Don is a gem and sweet as can be. The home is in a quiet neighborhood with its own personal dock. The lake is beautiful and bird watching is fantastic. We saw blue heron, bald eagles, Canadian geese and goslings, Mallards and their ducklings.
As the sun sets another wave of animals come out: moths, spiders, bats, mosquitoes. We enjoyed the dock before sunset and enjoyed the sunsets and watching the night critters from inside looking out at the beautiful view.
It’s nice to have wood floors throughout most of the house, and the cellar is at least 10-15 degrees cooler than other parts of the home. It’s also stocked with lots of books in the basement and a nice selection of DVDs. The pictorial book on the local history of Lake Sammamish is definitely worth a read and easy to do in 10 minutes or less.
We were happy to find a few chilled sparkling waters and sodas waiting for us as well as microwaveable popcorn. Don also told us about local restaurants and grocery stores.
Note for those with walking issues, there is an outdoor staircase that you must walk down with your luggage to access the lake house.
