"It seems like a hotel that also catered for long stays for temporary workers? E.g. ski instructors etc? There were some rooms with kitchen facilities for everyone to use at each level. The only issue we faced was the water from the bathroom was chalky (the one in the toilet and communal facilities were clear). We were not sure if its safe for consumption and the front desk could only advise us to let the water run for some time. Eventually, as we were with a 2.5 year old kid, we simply relied on bottled water. But other than that, he hotel and room condition are good. And it felt homely in the very cold condition when we were in Niseko. The breakfast at the hotel, for 2700 yen is also good. Staff was polite and helpful. Location was not bad too. We could not get a larger room, if there are."

"Beautiful property and facilities with high-end finishes and design. Excellent food (breakfast) and good restaurants. Only downside is that there is no walkable "local" area to explore. The hotel is self-contained but isolated, and one needs to take the shuttle to Hirafu to be in town. That said, it was a wonderful place to ski in and out of, with fantastic service and amenities."

"Kan no mori is a great hotel for the snow season. With live music, onsen, good food, great view of snow from inside, spacious room and convenient store at the lobby, it was a comfortable and good stay for me. The only inconvenience was the shuttle service which does not go to the hotel very often. "
