Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Timber Lodge. The venue is perfect for large groups; our family (aged 20-82) had fun doing puzzles, playing the arcade and ping pong, and spending time outdoors. The lake is beautiful, calm and peaceful. The “kids” had a ball playing on the trampoline and relaxing on the raft.
There were a few issues that arose over the weekend. One bathroom had a hole in the shower ceiling with a “Do not use” sign on it. We got a text on our 2nd day telling us we couldn’t use the hot tub for the duration of our stay. Part of the sectional was broken and unsafe for use. A sink and shower drain were not working. At 7pm on Saturday night, while attempting to feed our large group brats and burgers, we realized the gas grill would not light. A trip to the gas station to fill the propane tank did not help. The grill appears to be very well used and attempts to fix it did not work, it does not appear to be rehabable and needs to be replaced.
While we did get someone to call us back on Thursday about a few of our concerns and the septic system was pumped the next day, our other concerns were not addressed. Calls to the company the day after we got home were futile as the voicemail was full.
In summary, this site is fantastic for large groups; you won’t find another like it. If the few amenities can be upgraded and fixed I would not hesitate to return, but for the cost of the five nights, I had hoped to get all the amenities that were promised.
