Beyond beautiful and tranquil stay!
We stayed at this home over Labor Day weekend to visit family in the area. This place was very clean, spacious and so comfortable for all. The location is now my favorite place in the Black Hill. Just beautiful! So relaxing to wake up every morning to the peaceful sound of the Rapid Creek just steps from the back door. We will definitely be staying here again.

Lovely home
We had a wonderful week in this home! Sitting out in the gazebo listening to the running creek, saw deer & turkey…so peaceful. Hot tub was great! The inside was clean, beds were comfortable. Probably one of the most well furnished kitchens we’ve ever had! Would definitely recommend!

Great Getaway Location
The location was beautiful and quiet. Lots of room and very comfortable. Close to Rapid City and convenient access to Black Hills tourist spots, yet still feels secluded. This is our third time staying here, and already looking forward to the next one!

Great, quiet retreat
The house and property were just as described and pictured. We went during the Sturgis motorcycle rally and even with that many bikes around it was very quiet and peaceful. Owners were close if any issues came up, which we did not have any during our stay, but nice to know they were close if needed. House reminded me of my grandparents house - in a good way, just had that feel. Great place would recommend and would stay here again if we are ever in the area again.

Best VRBO in the Black Hills
My friends and myself have stayed at this property every year for at least five or six years, and we have booked it for next year also. we feel right at home and we wouldn't change a thing except maybe to stay longer. Our hosts are like old friends, always making us feel welcome,the home is clean and it is quiet and the creek and large lawn make you feel like you are staying in a park! It's a place of rest and peace, very rare these days.

Very nice secluded property
The land and the property was amazing. There was a creek in the backyard and we enjoyed seeing the deer and birds in the morning and evenings. It was an older home that was very clean and well maintained. The only thing we missed, due to other circumstances, was the hot tub wasn’t operating, so we couldn’t enjoy evenings in the hot tub like we we hoping for. Other than that, it was a great place.

This was a great quiet place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. It is filled with antiques and felt like I was walking into my great grandmas house. Loved sitting in the hot tub listening to the stream that flows by the property. Would definitely recommend.

Bugged Out!!
We have stayed at several different VRBO rentals over the years and this one ranks at the bottom, unfortunately. The home is quaint, great location and a bit like staying at grandma's. Our biggest issue with this rental were bugs and they were everywhere the entire visit. Crawling on the walls, on the ceilings, on the furniture, in the shower, on the beds and even crawling on us while trying to relax. This was not a relaxing stay to say the least. It was disgusting!! Our stay coincided with a recent snowfall so we were told by the owner that due to the temp change that the bugs were invading everywhere. Their solution was to come vacuum. Really? During a previous VRBO stay in Colorado when we noticed some bugs in the basement area, that owner had an exterminator out the very next day. We have never had an experience quite like this therefore I cannot recommend this rental listing.

Black Hills Getaway
This was our second time at the property and we love it! There is plenty of room for our family of four adults, the kitchen is very nice and works well for preparing family meals, and the furniture is so comfortable. Most important for us, it was quiet and peaceful. It is still fairly close to Rapid City for supplies and entertainment, but we enjoyed time on the massive back deck just relaxing and taking in the beautiful surroundings.

Fun in the Canyon
This was a lovely house - spacious and clean. The location was fun because it was in a small canyon with a stream zig zagging throughout. Yet it was only 15 minutes from groceries (Safeway) in Rapid City. We had a great time and will stay here again when in the area.

Lovely setting in a convenient location
We stayed at this wonderful place while we explored Mt. Rushmore, Black Hills, Sturgis, Deadwood and Badlands. We really appreciated the air conditioners during a rare heat wave in the area. Great location to everything, but in a secluded serene spot next to creek. Hot tub relaxing after a day of touring.

Nice house. Awful owners.
The house is as described. “Welcoming” handbook is rude. The owners creepily spied on us during our visit and messaged to comment on our kids’ behavior. Then after we left they tried to extort $750 from us for “damages” that didn’t happen and for which they offered no explanation or evidence. We rent with VRBO all the time and have never ever had a problem. This was weird and uncomfortable. Don’t recommend.

What a gem!
I highly recommend this wonderful rental! The home is beautiful, very comfortable, and relaxing, and fully equipped! We felt right at home! The grounds surrounding the home are absolutely gorgeous! My husband, being an avid fisherman, loved fishing in the nearby creek that runs through the property! The owners of this property, Audry and Gary, are lovely people, who definitely added to the enjoyment of our stay! Definitely consider this rental if you are traveling to this area!

Beautiful, thoughtful and convenient
The house was a nice older house, incredibly well maintained and thoughtfully supplied with convenience we needed except food. The property has a large lawn with mature trees, beautiful landscaping and a gazebo overlooking the creek. Our toddler absolutely loved the open outdoor space and seeing him play with imaginary friends in the willow tree will be one of my favorite memories to hold on to. This was our first time traveling long distance with our youngest, 2.5 yr). The owners called us and discussed what they might feel were hazards to be aware. Moving a few items to top shelves and a couple door knob covers were all that was needed. The baby monitor even reached the hot tub so we were able to relax after his bedtime. The location was perfectly centered, only 20-40 minutes from all main attractions. If we come back to the black hills, I imagine we'll make this our special return spot and build upon the memories.
