Ragusa Bar Hotel

"We struggled getting to this hotel. The bridge across the gap was one-way...the wrong way. After I broke the law to run in for instructions, the staff person directed me down this curved road to a tiny parking garage with a kooky man in charge. We were highly confused, language issues, but we got to our room. Our room was sizeable, with a balcony looking out over the gap, bridge, and kooky man's parking garage. "We stayed at this hotel in late September. All the staff were welcoming and courteous and the facilities just what we needed for a quiet stay as a couple. Everything was very clean, food was varied and it was just the location we were looking for. Mostly we ate in the town as we enjoyed the variety of local foods and the passiagatta (masses of families and friends walking around). We hired our own car and found this a great base to see many of the Montalbano locations - Scicli, Punta...

"Lovely breakfast plenty of choice nice coffee Pool area clean but chairs were uncomfortable and a few were broken. No working lock on toilet door to the toilets in public area. Overall it was a nice place to stay just little details let it down good location and pleasant stay"

"Out of season stay for work in October , staff very friendly and helpful and rooms clean. No tea or coffee facilities in room . Disappointed pool was closed as that was the reason for booking. Breakfast minimal and noisey and dinner was cold. Probably great in the summer but would get an appartment next time "

"Nice base to explore Donnafugata, local beaches and southern Sicily more generally. Be aware that you may need to use local restaurants in the evening (five minute drive). Went here on honeymoon and would happily return."
