The property has a lot of charm and character. After booking, we discovered it was haunted, which added a unique touch to our stay! The views are stunning, especially if you choose a room facing the ocean on the 2nd or 3rd floors. However, early morning deliveries can make it a bit noisy.
Our room was fairly big with a separate sleeping area with two beds. While the beds were advertised as queen-size, they felt more like full-size. Beyond that, the room was solid and met our needs.
The staff was friendly and helpful, though it would have been great if they had pet-friendly recommendations ready or information about what’s open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day or any holidays in general.
There’s no restaurant on the property, but there are plenty of options nearby within walking distance—assuming it’s not a holiday. A Safeway is just a few miles away, and there are lots of local shops just steps from the property.
Note that there are no elevators, and the stairs are quite steep. This wasn’t an issue for us, but it could be a challenge for others with mobility concerns.
The hotel is dog-friendly, which we appreciated, though there is a $40 per night pet fee. On the plus side, parking is free, which helps balance out the extra cost for pets.
