This property was perfect for what we needed. We had 4 adults and two teenagers. The house was clean, the beds were super comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and grilling every night as well a blender for many alcoholic concoctions. Brand new washer and dryer, working appliances and comfy living space. Beach access and view could not have been any better. The deck had 6 chairs and a table and was excellent for lounging on unless there was heavy rain or from about 5pm-7pm when the sun is beaming on you. There were tons of card and board games, books and Netflix and Hulu. There is a donut shop, ice cream shop, fresh seafood/lunch spot, general store and liquor store all within walking distance. We are all very roll with the flow kind of people, so we had no real complaints, but here are the only things that could be said to better prepare folks:
The grill needs to be replaced. It was very dirty, the grease trap was overflowing everywhere and the propane tank was completely empty. We got a full one at the general store right down the road.
The plate for the microwave was MIA and the blender needs to be replaced as well; there is no cap for the lid and it leaks from the bottom.
Bring all of your own beach equipment. No floats, umbrellas, chairs, etc are at the house. Beach Planet is about a mile away and has everything you need.
There is no roof on the upper deck.
The sliding glass doors to the decks have about a 3 inch lip that you are guaranteed to trip on every single time you go in or out. Warn the drunk folk or there will be broken toes.
This is a crowded section of Cape San Blas. You will have many neighbors. Our experience with most was positive, our next door neighbors rented a shore shark fishing company 2 nights in a row and landed some very large sharks one night (including a 7 foot hammerhead) which was VERY cool. Some were negative. One group set up 5 fishing poles directly in front of our beach canopy one day then proceeded to write "FU** YOU" in the sand when they eventually left. Sweet folks. This is a very pet friendly beach, which is great! We enjoyed watching all the pups play with their people, but one group preferred to scoop their doggie nuggs and toss them into the ocean while we swam instead of bagging it. Also sweet folks. The crowds will also ensure ungodly lines for donuts and ice cream, so plan accordingly or prepare to be in line for 2 hours. Seriously.
All in all it's a great house/good spot
