Great location but property needs some work

The location of this property is amazing and we enjoyed our stay but the owner needs to invest some $$ back in the property to fix doors, water damage, etc.

Beach house with potential

We were pleased with the location. Access to the beach was good and there was not a lot of traffic. Our grandkids were able to play without too much worry about vehicles. There was a good consistent ocean breeze which was greatly appreciated during the scheduled power outage. (It would have been nice to have been informed about this planned outage.) The floorplan was nice and there was access to the balconies from each room. However, the house could use some general maintenance and upkeep. Upon arrival, we noticed that the refrigerator was not cooling as it should. My husband and son, cleaned the dust caked vent grates at the bottom of the refrigerator which seemed to help the situation. There were a few cracked windows, doors which stuck, and duct tape was used to repair balcony railing. The AC vents constantly sweated and dripped on the kitchen table and loveseat. The AC temperature was kept at 73 degrees as directed by a note left at the property. Whenever these issues are addressed, this would then be a 5 star rental.

Great home, besides some details

Absolutely loved the fact that the home was right on the beach, just down the stairs, a very very short walk across a sand patch, and you’re on the beach. The home (as mentioned in MANY other reviews) wasn’t very well kept. Soon arrival there was urine in and on the first toilet. The fridge wouldn’t cool. The upstairs has a curtain and air vent that is covered in mold. There is a king size bed upstairs that sits on a bed frame, the bed was broken. Broken as in the legs under is were broke and made the bed tilt. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, the shower in the master bathroom and very little pressure. Back to the upstairs, my husband had to fix the door handle that led to the outside because it was falling off. Be prepared to wake up sweating due to the air being shut off. Other than minor details and some health hazards the home is beautiful. I hope things are actually getting fixed and not just being said they’re getting fixed. Thank you for the great stay!

Almost perfect

The layout of the house is great. Lots of room. Really the only problems are the mosquitoes and the air conditioner is difficult. Other than that, it’s great.

Emerald Isle stay was awesome

The property is at a great location and plenty of room for five kids ,6 adults. Three bedrooms well furnished. Property was well upkept. Nice kitchen with some pots and pans. Overall experience was nice and lots of memories made

The views are spectacular!

The views from the decks are so amazing, we just finished our second stay in this house! You really just can’t beat the views from the kitchen table windows either . They just updated the ovens and changed out some decor- nice touch but we are in it for the location and the views! Gina was great too and sent a repairman out quickly when we had an issue with a door. We will be back !

Spring vacation

This is a very beautiful ocean front beach house. But there is some updates needs to be done for it to become an amazing house for vacation spot. The downstairs master bathroom has a leak from the upstairs bathroom. Upstairs king bed looks like a taco it’s way over due for a new bed! The living room sofa needs replacement or have a better covering. The ground floor has a shower for rainse off the sand but all the knobs are mess up. We even try to fix it. I wish the owner can see by fixing these small issues will make this beach house an amazing place for vacationers. We still enjoy our time at this house. It’s very close to the beach. I really appreciate Gina from the management on how she took care of us when we needed. Thank you for making our stay comfortable.

The perfect getaway destination

Fun Stay

Enjoyed the home, it met our expectations. Kitchen had everything we needed. The deck was great and access to the beach was wonderful. However, seemed like lots of sand fleas.

Beautiful home

Great beachfront property

We all loved the house. It is very spacious. It is a great floor plan for a mixed group of people. The stairs are not too steep so that was nice for our elderly dog. Yes, they are pet friendly too. I would rent this property again for sure!

Awesome Anniversary

This house was as fabulous as the pictures show! We absolutely loved it. Bed was comfy. Fridge worked great. The view was amazing. Plenty of room. Plenty of pots and pans, plates, silverware. Wish we could have brought all our kids and grandkids like usual, but jobs would not allow. My only complaint…and it’s a small one, was the guest bedroom on the main floor had a mattress and box spring on the floor without a frame. I’d have been embarrassed to ask one of the kids to take that room. Beds need frames. We’re not in college! Other than that…wow! May be back for our 33rd anniversary next year!

Weekend Getaway

We had a group of four women staying at the property for a weekend getaway and it was a great choice. More than enough room for a party of four, stocked kitchen so we could make meals, plenty of soap/towels/etc. for our stay, variety of seating areas indoor and out, and a beautiful view. There are multiple outdoor decks along with some lawn space and direct access to the beach. The beach was pretty full of vehicles on the weekend days but cleared out a bit once the weekday rolled around. Be sure to bring bug spray because the mosquitos got pretty bad in the evening if there wasn't a breeze. I would note that one of the beds (the queen by itself in the room downstairs) seemed old and was pretty soft and squeaky (enough so that we didn't end up sleeping in it). Overall it was a solid beach house, not so nice that you're nervous you're going to break/spill something but not rundown or uncomfortable at all.

Great Beachfront Location!!

Couldn’t have asked for a better location right on the beach! It gets the 4Stars. Only negatives are the house definitely needs a lot of repairs. The AC Vents drip, moldy smell in house and low water pressure in Master shower. The Housekeeper does not thoroughly clean the house especially with dusting light fixtures or windows/doors and sweeping or mopping under furniture. Couldn’t locate a swiffer to mop up water spills had to use paper towels. Dining table chair still broke, window shades are all old and damaged and difficult to open, outside railing needs repair. Sofas were gritty and beds are old and uncomfortable. The bedding needs updating as well. We brought our own toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels and laundry and dish soap and thankfully we did or we would of had to buy overpriced items at the store nearby. We did have some plumbing issues in bathroom and kitchen. Maintenance man made us feel uncomfortable and did not want to do his job and referred to plumber who didn’t do a thorough job. Didn’t have fridge issues, AC was good on one side of house only. The other half had issues with AC going off in the middle of the night, something is wrong with its programming . Needs new ceiling fans, the fan blades are too huge and don’t throw off any air! But the response from owners or Vacasa was acceptable. I hope they fix up this house by next year for we will definitely consider returning. Love the Vacasa app and service.

Great house!

We have stayed at several beach homes in Texas and this is by far the best we've seen! I was worried about the other negative reviews, but this home is super nice! So close to the beach and the area is pretty secluded other than a few neighbors and cars/golf carts passing by every once in a while. Do be aware that the mosquitos are HORRIBLE around the house, not at all down by the water. I got bit just to and from the car! The house is about 10 min from the restaurants, shops, and gas stations. The master bathroom is huge with a giant walk in shower. The kids loved the upstairs area with the couches and twin bed. Only complaint they had was there were only basic TV channels up there, no netflix or satellite. I love that there are 4 bathrooms here, no waiting for anyone to take a shower or use the restroom. Do bring extra trash bags, paper towels and detergent if you plan on doing laundry.

House issues

Air conditioning ceiling vents dripped water. Refrigerator wouldn’t stay cold. Musty odor in house. Master bath had ceiling crack that was dripping water from unknown source. Possibly upstairs bathroom. Kitchen chair had broken foot rest. A/C slow to cool house. The location was the best part. Beachfront!! We overlooked the issues above and enjoyed our time there. We would probably stay again, but the house could definitely use some attention.

Beautiful beach house

The house was pretty and the views were spectacular!!! The house did need repairs in the balcony. Lots of loose rungs that presented a danger for small kids. The air didn't cool the upstairs well or the small BR downstairs. Leak in the ceiling of the master bath.

Only one problem

The house is great and everything clean and supplies provided as expected. Great location provided us the perfect distance from the Go topless events when we were ready to settle in. Nice beach area of ur own. Everything was in working order. A few broken pieces of furniture should have been removed. Not a big deal for us, the note in the seat was enough but if we had smaller children it could have been an issue keeping them off. The biggest and only issue we all had was the mattresses on the beds were the worst any of us ever slept on. Pain from a bad nights sleep makes for a bad vacation. The best way to describe them is they are the equivalent to baby bed mattresses. Bad. Other than that great house and accommodations.

Beautiful house as close to the beach as you can get!

The house has been nicely updated. We loved where the kitchen table is placed in front of the windows so all you see is beautiful beach! The kitchen could have a few more items for cooking, and the downstairs queen mattress felt like we were sleeping on just springs, so may need to be replaced but those would be our only complaints. The rental company was perfect at communicating from beginning to end. Loved the house will definitely recommend to family and would stay here again!

Breathtaking! Just needs a little TLC

We truly enjoyed our stay at Emerald Isle. If we have any critiques of the property they would be that the dryer wasn't working properly. Took a long time for the clothes/towels to dry. Also, when we went to throw our wet laundry in the dryer the first time there were wet towels that had been sitting in there from the previous renters. We dried them and put them away. There were two beach towels in there. Don't know if they belong to Emerald Isle or the renters. We put them in the 1st floor Master bathroom. The home looked clean upon arrival but wasn't clean. You really should speak to your cleaning crew. They've become very complacent. The coffee maker was very dirty. The floor was very gritty. The home just needs a little TLC. All in all, we would rent again because the good far outweighed the not so good. Breathtaking views, easy access to the beach. We spent most of our time outside anyway. Really nice get away!

Location was fantastic!

Things I wish someone told me to prepare for this home: First- the location was great. It was secluded enough where you felt like you had a private section of beach. The house itself was roomy and fairly nice. Second- there are many things you should bring to help make the stay easier. **We did not have enough plates to last more then one meal. They also only provided 2 dishwasher tabs for our 4 day- 3 night stay. We opted to go to the local store and buy dishwasher tabs and also a big stack of paper bowls and plates. There was plenty of silverware. ** The pots and pans were very “eclectic.” **There was only 1 beach towel that we could find so you will want to bring plenty. **There was only 1 hand soap for the bathrooms plus a single hotel size shampoo. You may want to bring hand soap for the sinks and your own shampoo and conditioner. **One bathroom was fully out of order (upstairs room). We just worked around that and used if for a changing room. **Games- we could not even find a deck of cards. Just a couple puzzles in the family room table. Bring your own games if you like to play- which we do. **cleaner- there were only 2 dish towels and a small cheap roll of paper towels. Nothing to clean the counters, etc. We went out and bought wipes and paper towels. Third- several chairs were broken but still out. Be careful for those. Also- several windows are broken (meaning they do not open properly). We opted to just keep the French doors open during the day. The refrigerator lost cold air quickly if the door was left open for any amount of time. Watch that if you have kids with you or people who just like to open it and stare. 😂 Fourth- bedding. There were not any extra blankets or pillows. The blankets were all very light weight. Bring more of you prefer differently. All in all- we would stay here again but I would come prepared with all of the above extra things which have been included in other houses we have stayed in. There is a store called The Big Store only 9 miles west of the house that carries anything you may need. Walmart in Galveston was more of a trek but you can’t beat the free ferry ride and view of all the wildlife!

Great Rental

This was a great rental, directly on the beach. The place is set up well and we had no issues at all. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend anyone to stay here. There were a few broken items like the foot rest on one of the dining room chairs, but we are not picky and spend most of our time outside so it wasnt a big deal. People need to realize that this is a beach front rental... things are not going to be as if the house was just built and never stayed in and the beach and ocean take a toll on these beach front homes. One note.... we did not have an neighbors in the red house next door during our stay, so cannot comment on if that would have been a bother seeing as how that house is really close to this one. All and all 5 stars, pretty modern concept in the home.!!!
