Our family really liked the room. It was very spacious and they provided us with an upgrade, at arrival, so we could have a joined room. We didn’t appreciate the difficulty in making reservations at their 2 special restaurants. We weren’t very impressed with the food and felt that we were basically eating the same things all week. Room service always took 45min to an hour no matter the time of day. We had a charge for a donation to some special cause, without even being asked. The gym doesn’t allow anyone under 16, even with a parent, so that was frustrating as we wanted to work out as a family and our 15yo was told she couldn’t be in there.

I’m incredibly frustrated and would like someone from Expedia to please reach out and help make this right. We booked this property based on how lovely the Royals Sands was last year in Cancun. This property is completely different, and while I could list a bunch of reasons why we were disappointed, the main one is that the beach is completely eroded and is nothing at all like what is shown in the photos on the listing on Expedia. Our kids love playing on the beach and swimming in the ocean, and the pictures on Expedia make it look like it’s a wonderful, classic Rivierva Maya beach. The beach was a fraction of the size of what is shown on the listing, is unsafe for kids to walk (much less play) given spear-like stumps and huge rock edges sticking out of the sand, and slimy / seaweed-filled water. I know it sounds like I’m being dramatic, but I’m happy to share photos from my trip and compare against the photos on the listing. I understand that they are dealing with erosion, but I need that called out in the listing so I can make an informed decision, and not get surprised after booking and showing up on property. Not sure if this review is public or not, but really hoping someone from Expedia can contact me and help make this right.

Stayed at the Royal Haciendas over our Spring Break 2025. Nice hotel, great service. Cleanliness was excellent. In my opinion, they are limited on dining options, but buffet food is good. Never very busy, which was good. We always found chairs at the pool. Some good activities, and the kids loved the pools. The beach needs some help, but the resort acknowledges it. Very safe and quiet resort. Almost too quiet. Everything outside closes at 9 pm. Loved the movies by the beach, and the nightly entertainment outside though. Overall, we had a good stay. Kids will require some sort of night life for our next trip.

First time staying at the Royal Haciendas and overall we were very happy with the choice. Unfortunately the beach wasn’t in the best shape, however, it was the same scene throughout the area. The kids club was fantastic, with a ton of activities going on throughout the day for all ages. We were also very pleasantly surprised to learn that bars carried Heineken zero. The downside was that the food options were fairly limited, and it was hard to get into the restaurants. We were also surprised at how long each meal took to receive food, unfortunately there was not a “quick beach Buffett” option like most resorts offer. The room was clean, and in great condition. However, the beds were extremely uncomfortable. We booked this vacation on a great deal, and for the amount paid, this resort provided a fun vacation for our family.

We loved our stay at the Royal Haciendas! The kids club was a hit with our daughter, the games room was a popular place for our son and the swim up bar was the perfect spot for the parents! Food was great, staff were friendly and helpful. It was a windy week so we didn’t spend much time at the beach, but with so many swimming pool options, we didn’t miss it much (and the fact that you can see the ocean from the pools helps). Such a great family vacation spot! Thank you, Royal Haciendas!

We stayed on the left side and that was more quiet. Place was easy to get around but very hard to get into restaurants and food took a long time to order. No options to walk in and grab food mid day had to sit down somewhere and order. Otherwise was great, very clean and very nice friendly workers. Beach was not very walkable and full of seaweed, broken trees and such from past storms, knew this before coming. Did not matter to us.

Everything was great about our stay. The only drawback was that the quality of the food was inconsistent. The restaurants were great, but a good amount of the buffet was often not fresh. Room service one night left us with very bland and poorly made quesadillas and guacamole.

The wait staff in the main restaurant and bartenders at pool 2 were not the nicest we've encountered in Mexico. Additionally, we had one "security" member hanging around us at the pool each day. He had a generally displeased look on his face. He also made us turn off our little portable speaker, which we only played clean easy listening types of music. No one around us complained, in fact most complained that we had to turn it off. This happened a few different times over our stay. Our stay was fine but we most likely will not be back.

Poor choice of places to eat.. Was only given one opportunity to eat in a restaurant. Had to eat at the buffet and two days we left out hungry... No music at the pool...bars closed at 11 pm
