We have been renting entire homes for our vacations (and sometimes other types of travel, too) for at least ten years now, so we have seen quite a few properties and this one is rather unique. I don't often come across pet friendly historic houses with lots of acreage AND an indoor pool. It was just what we were looking for. FYI, since it was not entirely clear to me from the info in the listing, the indoor pool remains in operation during the winter months and is heated to a nice temperature. Worth noting, because sometimes indoor pools are closed during the cold months. This property was relatively new to the rental market when we stayed there, and the furniture all appeared to be brand new (other than the antique chair in the room with the wood stove). We were lucky enough to be there on a clear night with a new moon - the star-gazing was spectacular! We could have used the outdoor fire pit, but the outdoor temperature was still a bit too cold at night for us to motivate ourselves to do so. It looks like a great fire pit, though, and it is nicely located right by a door to the pool area. This would be a lovely place for a midsummer celebration. We did enjoy the indoor wood stove a good bit. We appreciate that abundant fire wood is provided. Some advice: our cell service (Verizon) wasn't great at the house, so bring screen shots or print outs of the info you need to get in the house so you have it on hand for the few minutes between your arrival and the time that you are up and running on the wifi. Be sure to have a flashlight on hand if there is a chance that you will arrive after sunset - presumably everyone has a flashlight on their phone at this point, but I thought I would mention this just in case.
