I will start by saying the price was low, so I knew we would not be at a resort. Having said that, I expected the owners to at least take care of the property, especially since it is owned by a rental company.
We arrived late in the evening (flight arrived PHX about 9:30pm) and by the time we got to the property, it was about 10:45. We just wanted to lay down and go to bed. Unfortunately for us, this didn't happen. The place is filthy. The cute, new-looking furnishing and furniture in the living room? Covered in stains. Every baseboard in the place looks like it has been collecting gunk for the last 4 years. Holes in the walls, lights that don't work. Oh, it gets worse.
We tried to overlook this and just go to bed. Well, when we pulled the covers back, there was dirt in the bed- like big chunks of dirt as though someone had been in the bed with dirty shoes.
And did I mention the pubic hair in the bed. Oh, yeah, that too.
Then there was the noise of fighting of at least two grown men from the sidewalk outside the unit.
I called the 800 number to request assistance. I sent the photos via email immediately and also told the agent we felt unsafe. She said she would call me back with "options," in a bit. That was Thursday night and today is Tuesday and I have yet to hear from anyone at the company, except the text bot that repeatedly replies "thank you for your comments, we will get back to you after we contact an agent." I have no less than 16 texts to the company and several calls. I have heard nothing from an actual person.
It is clear they are just trying to pacify me with responses till check out then take my money and be done with me. Business practice of this company is unethical and they will do absolutely nothing to help re-locate you (even to another one of their properties).
Needless to say, we had to find a hotel that night for the remainder of our stay.
Big takeaway- filthy, in disrepair, bait and switch, TERRIBLE customer service.
