The location was perfect for me. Check in was a bit rough as I was given the wrong room and then charged multiple times. The social is basic you get a ticket for a drink and there are some snacks. The room for me was small and since this is a pet friendly hotel I was lucky to get the room next to the yappy dog. Breakfast ...I was up early and it appeared that someone took all the options. I could not find anyone to replenish so I am no sure what was there. Cute place but maybe in the wrong management hands...

At first i was not too sure of the location as i had never visited Philly before. However i had a sigh of relief upon reaching the hotel & the overall surrounding area being safe. The hotel was charming & comfy, and the staff was very helpful esp the lady who checked me in & gave suggestions for cheesesteak & also walking directions, she was really good! The room was spacious & the bed was firm which i appreciated. Bathroom was clean. Good location- quiet but safe as mentioned & within short distance to the city main sights. I do appreciate the hotel makes an effort- they have a free breakfast offering as well as complimentary light bites during the pm.

I had a wonderful stay at this small, laid back, charming, old hotel. I stayed in the single room with twin bed, which was cozy and just enough for me. I loved that you can open the room’s windows. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great for walking to restaurants, shopping and points of interest. The continental breakfast was perfect for starting the day. The evening social was a nice wind down from the day’s activities or a prelude to a night out. Special thanks to Jocelyn who hosted the socials and recommended Mixto restaurant for dinner. Thanks also to Xavier at the front desk and the lovely young woman there Monday morning ( name forgotten) for your hospitality and patience in answering my questions. If you’re looking for big, bright, state of the art accommodations, the Alexander Inn is not for you. But if you’re ok with quaint, quirky and simple, then this unassuming little hotel may just be the home away from home that you didn’t know you needed.

A great place to stay in a very lovely part of Philly. Not the most luxury place, but I feel like it exceeded my expectations given how affordable it was. Compared to other hotels at this price point it is above and beyond great.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff members were awesome and helpful. The location is fantastic, walkable to all the main tourist attractions. The hotel is old, just need a little upgrade specially the carpets. The complementary happy hour was great too.
