This is the story of how I made a mistake and the condo owner saved our family vacation. I reserved this unit back in January for my family's late September vacation, 9/28-10/4. But somewhere along those next 9 months, I got it into my head that our reservation began on Wednesday (9/27). So we drove the 6 hours down to PCB and arrived late Wednesday evening and.... I had no access to the condo! I messaged the owner through the app and he responded within 5 minutes. He gently told me I was off by a day. Rather than telling us we were out of luck, he went into overdrive to reach housekeeping to make sure the unit was ready for us (it was). He then charged us the discounted Jan rate for the extra night rather than the higher one listed on VRBO. He went the extra mile to make sure my family of 5 had a place to stay, despite my error, earning my eternal gratitude!
The owner was already a star in my book after that exchange and earned more stars for a BEAUTIFUL condo! The unit is spacious and the ocean balcony view is simply gorgeous. It is quiet and has a great location within the resort.
We had family staying in another VRBO unit in the same resort. They warned us to bring bath towels, trash bags, dish soap, plates, and cutlery because none of those items were provided in their unit. We were pleased to find all of those items provided. My brother remarked on how much nicer our condo was.
We had a wonderful time and will be back!
