「We stayed in this home for the full month of March 2025. We rated this a 10 based on our top three requirements: next to the ocean, clean, comfortable beds. This home met all three requirements. 「This house was a wonderful place to stay. There was no air-conditioning in this place but it was not needed. The wind coming off the sea was sufficient to cool the house and sometimes at night it was cold. The sounds of the waves crashing against the cliffs was the best "white noise" to fall asleep or read your favorite book. The place is stocked with the tools you need to cook with. 「We stayed with our kids (6,8) for 4 nights. We deliberately chose this location as we visited this region in 2009 when the Kilauea lava was flowing. To stay on top of the old lava flow was a special feature to show the kids. The location is very remote, the next shops a 15min drive away. 「We absolutely loved this house. My sister and I traveled with our significant others along with our dad. We had three wonderful bedrooms to ourselves that were clean with windows and fans for cooler air in the evenings! The kitchen is well stocked with cooking tools and the outdoor kitchen is great for cooking during the heat of the day! The location is a little out of the way of beaches, but the drive is so worth it. The location was great for our day visit to the volcano park as well.」

「Fantastic property with so many activities and sights in the area. Unique and private, beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed 5 days of rest, scenic tours, casual dining and exploring. We wouldn't have changed anything. The only reason we put 4**** for location is that it is quite remote and off the main highway (though roads are all paved), but it does mean a good 30 minute drive just to get onto the highway to proceed to other areas like South Point, Volcanoe, Hilo, etc. We loved the driving...

「Great stay and enjoyed every aspect of the home itself. Lava flows were cool to explore but took away from the traditional ‘beach experience’. That’s the only concern we had… driving to actual sand beaches. Again, minor detail for our group but a family with younger kids might have had issues. Would stay here again for sure. 」

「The staff was so friendly. There were lots of animals: peacocks, cats, frogs, geese. We loved it! We booked it to be closer to Volcanoes National Park, without realizing there was no road that cuts across. We had to go amidst to Hilo in order to go back down to the Volcanoes, so it wasn't the most convenient, but we loved the vibe!」
