Billed as a “retro” property with almost all 5/5 ratings I expected an amazing place with an amazing view (and “splurged” the extra cost thinking this place would be a great end to a vacation at lesser lodgings) but it was just old (70’s) with an odd old lady smell, and although clean, it was just an old clean home to stay in.
It was expensive (~$400/night) and not worth that. The Wi-Fi (billed as excellent) would not support our Firestick) although you could use your phone online.
The view (billed as ocean view) was a small space between the bushes where you could get a glimpse of the pacific on the edge of the deck, and that wasn’t great.
The bed seemed lumpy and needing replacement in the master room. The worst was that our host texted us the evening of arrival that our power would go out the next morning from 8-4 the following day (and we had items in the fridge and freezer) for our planned second day there. Thankfully they refunded us promptly at our request the following day plus 1/2 the cleaning fee and that was reasonable and made things right.
Vacasa, the host company was very responsive and very helpful; they were great!
Overall, it was much less than expected and less value than expected. This would be a fine place for someone with a large group to use primarily as a staging place for hiking in the area but not for someone (like us) to spend a nice time enjoying the place, down time, views and some quiet tv time in the evenings binging on your shows.
