Great spot to enjoy some time away from the city. I wish the owner would have cleaned the dishes from the previous guest who stayed in the house before us. As soon as we arrived, we had to clean an entire dishwasher full of someone else’s dishes. The refrigerator was also leaking when we arrived, so we had to clean up about a quart of stagnant water from the fridge before we could even use it. The filter was leaking, so every day we had to attend to it. I also wish the owner would have mowed more than a small perimeter around the cabin. My husband and I really wanted to hike around the property, but it was impossible to do so with all of the high grass and weeds. I suspect this isn’t a problem in the winter, but it was in the summer. I also wish the owner would clean the outside furniture. We couldn’t sit anywhere that did not have layers of bird excrement.
WFH’ers: Know that there is internet access, but it is too slow to run any sort of VPN. We definitely could not have worked from the property. We also weren’t able to stream any content, and the small television (only one in the entire house that we could find) was a bit dated and had limited channels. But access to email and text messaging services worked great!
All of that being said, the house was lovely, quaint, and exactly what we needed. We were looking to mostly disconnect, and we were able to do just that! It did get quite hot, but the air kept up and we really enjoyed our long weekend at the house. We got to hear a pack of coyotes take down some prey on our first night, and that was quite an experience! I would recommend this property to others for all of these reasons as well as the incredibly affordable nightly price!
