There were a few nice things about this house (nice deck on back, master bed was comfy) but overall we were very disappointed. Some of the issues: we booked through a company called vacasa. I called 2 days before to ask questions, and never got an answer or a call back- ever. Good thing entering the home was ok. Here are some of the things we encountered: (1) bathroom light (long fluorescent tube) flashed like a strobe light, and never came on steady. Handyman came and called next day, cannot get a replacement, so light could not be fixed, (2) carpets look original, dirty, stained, so we kept our shoes on throughout the house (3) hornet nests on patio, (4) rusty chairs on patio, (5) old single serve coffee pot only - geez, for $25 one could find a full sized coffee maker, (6) no kitchen towels, (7) no maps, area info, or departure instructions in the home, (8) no TV remote in the bedroom, (9) water stain on ceiling in bedroom, (10) bedroom overhead light didn’t work, (11) neither did outdoor front light until I changed the lightbulb myself, (12) cobwebs in corners, (13) cups cracked so juice leaked through bottom onto counter, (14) only 3 wine glasses, (15) terribly moldy/mildewed shower curtain in master bath— such an easy thing to watch for but disgusting for a guest to find, (16) greasy pan on top of the fridge. This didn’t ruin our few days on the island (we ate out only) but was an embarrassment for me as I hosted our stay. Even a dated home could be clean & updated with a few things for little money, I feel like I wasted money and could have stayed in town. The bus stop is a bit of a walk which is a bit daunting if you’re walking home after dark. I am sorry I spent $$ renting this house and will discuss with the property management company. Will not consider staying here again.
