Our party of 4, including 2 teens stayed here for half term. We chose Kingfisher’s Lure for the location and were not disappointed: easy access to town and direct waterfront access – lovely to just sit and watch the water. Although we took our inflatable kayak, we were pleased with the dinghy provided as it was warmer. My husband and I went out in it (in our thermals with a flask!) every morning and away from the motorized craft, even saw an otter on the riverbank. The house met our requirements but is small and yes, creaky and a little unloved – slipped photos in frames, mismatched crockery, only one toilet roll for 4 people for a week! We were greeted with a corner pile of sweepings, that maybe the cleaner forgot to pick up, easily remedied but suggesting to me that the floor had not been washed. We had taken wipes and would have cleaned for ourselves when we arrived anyway, as we were travelling just prior to the second lockdown. With 4 of us we would probably book next door, which has an extra bathroom, if we returned; or even book both cottages and visit with friends. Paul was a wonderful host and reacted extremely well when we accidently overstayed – clearly, we relaxed too well! All said, a successful break in a lovely position, with accommodating owners, which we were very lucky to get in just in time. Thank you, Paul.
