"We enjoyed our recent stay at Riu, staff were great to deal with, food was great. I know it says the drinks in the room are restocked every 2 days, but had to request water bottles because no one re stocked the fridge."

"Dining options were really sparse. There is not an asian fusion restaurant just a sign on the wall. Rooms were great with a bedroom and area for kids with a pullout. The servers, people were amazing. The food was just meh.. Onsite entertainment wasn't great. Quiet.. we liked that. All around great time"

"All rooms are ocean front view-beautiful! Room was very nice and comfortable. But general Facilities were not well maintained. Walls were chipped, floor cement by the pool was faded and chipped. Definitely didn’t feel like a newly built hotel (April 2024). Felt like it’s been worn down for 10 years already. Food was very bad and there’s no other food options outside the hotel. People in Mazatlán are very nice and the workers were very kind. "

"Loved that it was ocean front and our room was right above the beach. The hotel is in a great location, walkable to many good restaurants and the staff was friendly. We did not like that there is no heat in the rooms, we hit a cold spell, many nights went down to about 11 degrees C. The hotel did provide extra blankets which did help. "

"Busqué un hotel de precio razonable para una estancia larga (11 noches). Instalaciones en general limpias y los desayunos sabrosos. El sillon de la habitación ya estaba en muy mal estado, se fue sumiendo hasta no ser utilizable."

"Great property beautiful view from my room. I had dinner in the 15th floor the first night I was there and service was mediocre I had to several times call the waiter over. The next morning I had breakfast on the. 30th floor and service was excellent! Staff nice and professional. I did ask for some ice packs to be put in the freezer since I was traveling with my son’s insulin only a couple of packs were frozen the others was not "

"this is an older property but has been kept clean and well. service was excellent but their restaurant was pricey. We didn't have an impression of pushy sales people for the timeshare thing. In fact they never even bothered to ask us but noticed the first day that it was a time share. We love the cave pool and felt like we didn't have to go outside of the hotel. I was impressed the female trainer for the hawk would come out to the pool area for the families to experience! Should be called El Cid...
