“Staff and food in the pub are excellent. The rooms are out dated and in severe need of refurbishment”

“Totally impressed by our stay. Warm friendly welcome. Room was immaculate. Having the restaurant adjoining was ideal. The meal we had there was lovely(carvery). Will definitely stay there again with no hesitation.”

“It was an okay stay. Location was convenient and I liked the idea of pub+hotel - easy for dining and drinking isn't it? However, the hotel rooms honestly need a bit of refurbishing and improvement on cleaniness. Shower faciltiies were a bit old and didn't function quite properly and stains were everywhere to be seen. But other than that price is okay.”

“Great for a night’s stopover. Room was warm due to hot water coming through the large heating pipes that we had no control over. Radiator was completely off, but still a bit warm. Very comfy bed. Spacious room. Was surprised to see ironing board and iron in room. Breakfast was very nice indeed. Coffee not good though. All in all, served its purpose and would use again if in the area. ”

“I enjoyed my stay at this hotel very much. As usual i found the mattress on the bed too hard and the duvet too heavy and hot. I always carry my own pillows and a spare throw so I was able to lay on the top on the duvet doubled over with my throw over the top which solved both problems. As this is the start of a season, might I suggest the sills between the secondary sliding windows and the opening windows be cleaned. It would give a better impression. The restaurant food was delicious and the……

“This hotel is one of the Old English Inns. Very vintage style, clean, and comfort. If you want to try some typical English countryside, it is. The location may not suit for those don't drive.”
