"It’s a cool place to be there is a liquor store next door so there are guys that might make you feel intimidated but they are regular guys all you gotta do is smile and say what’s up. It’s a nice walk to 7-11am the light rail stops very close by. Overall it a good place to rest."

"My family of 4 stayed at Hotel Paradox last year and got our family together for some family time, this year. We rented 3 rooms, during this trip. The staff here are friendly and professional. Some things worth considering... Our rooms were not ready at check-in, and an ADA approved room, which was requested and confirmed days before, was not available upon arrival. This made check in difficult for our matriarch. We also had 3 rooms in 3 different floors, which was ridiculous but at least we got our steps in each time we were visiting each other. Still, we enjoyed our stay and love that pets are welcome. There were always poop bags available, too. TMI, but it's appreciated. We also love the amenities. The pool heater was not working during some of our stay, but it was fixed in the nick of time. We also appreciate the safe space the lobby provided for everyone during the New Years countdown. We had 3 generations of very happy and safe people at Hotel Paradox. Thank you for your work and care. "

"Husband and I have stayed in this hotel maybe 6-7 times throughout the years. Beautiful, well maintained space and very kind workers! If we did have any complaints, one our own fault and another for corp. Our stay occurred weekend before Christmas and there were rowdy people loud, slamming doors in the hallways from about 7p-1:30a we could’ve called front desk but we didn’t… we went to sleep same time they quieted down @ 1:30a. 2nd complaint is, you DO now have to pay for parking! Why!? Nothing can be said to staff but WHY at upper management!"

"This hotel was awesome! Easy walk to the boardwalk. The hot breakfast was a major plus- eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, breads, cereal, fruit. Saved a lot of time and money having those options when waking up. I was originally going to book a balcony suite, but decided to save $100 and just get a regular king room. Then I was delighted when I arrived with my daughter, the host at the desk offered to upgrade us to balcony suite for free! Just had to wait an extra 15 minutes for it to be ready. That was the best surprise ever and made our stay a totally awesome experience. It was nice having breakfast on the patio of our room with the sea breeze. Will return to this hotel next time in Santa Cruz!"
