"The location had a lot of walkable places to eat and shop. It was very clean, the staff were great. The only drawback to the rooms with the bunks is that it is very dark like a cave. We had two adjoining and felt like we were in a bunker with little space to move. The beds are rock hard and uncomfortable. It was not as enjoyable to “lounge” in the room during downtime. The staff were great "

"I definitely loved the location, close to Okachimachi station, 4 min walk to Ginza station, about 15 min walk to Akihabara. Ueno shopping was crazy busy, food is always top notch. Hotel was perfect for a family of 4, washer/dryer combo in the room gave us more room in the luggage to bring gifts home. There is a cool and very traditional town in Ueno that was filled with Temple and Shrines. Amazing trip, we are already planning our next adventure because we didn't get to do everything we wanted....

"The staff's hospitality is fantastic. The additional amenities are great -- the massage chairs after a full day of walking and exploring was a life saver. The hotel is conveniently located near a train station. As my first time in Japan (and first timetraveling abroad) Hotel Niwa Tokyo set a high standard for me."

"Great hotel with all the amenities you need and lovely big rooms. Breakfast buffet was great. Close enough to the train station but not much around the hotel in terms of food/shopping so not super convenient. My only complaint would be that the hotel is situated directly next to a busy motorway and the hotel is not properly soundproofed. We could hear cars passing by all night and were woken up many times by sirens. Otherwise a great stay but not ideal for light sleepers."

Apa Hotel Higashi Shinjuku Kabukicho Tower

"Great accomodations. A 10 minute walk to metro. The breakfast is pricey at $15 but there is no alternative in the area - but the breakfast was very good. Dozens of eating establishments down the nearby allys but they are not open early."
