It was great to have a home away from the hustle and bustle of Kona and Hilo. Perfect proximity to local stores and restaurants. Short drive to the National Park and the Black Sand Beach. Would highly recommend to those looking for a quiet place to stay on the Big Island.

We came to participate in the disc golf tournament, The Big Island Open. The property gave us the peace and quiet we needed to take down the tournament!

We had a comfortable stay. Could have used a bigger clearer sign at entrance - but house was right there and as it was in the picture. Plenty of room to park multiple cars and plenty of space inside. We were a little concerned about no AC but temp went down to 65 at night and was quite comfortable. Cannot drink from the tap - this was a surprise (was it noted on listing?) but host provided bottled water so it was not an issue - just a surprise. We were disappointed that we did not meet the dogs! Would stay again.

We wanted a house outside the hustle and bustle of Kona, with easy access to both sides of the island, and this was it! The house was quite spacious for our party of 6, and had everything you could need to feel like you were at home (except a blow dryer). It’s tucked away and surrounded by tons of tropical foliage, fruit trees, and a large grassy area to play in. In the evening the coqui frogs sing you melodic tunes. It’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy all The Big Island has to see/do. House is close to Punalu’u bake shop, southpoint, and black sand beach, and again a perfect halfway point between the two sides of the island.We loved our stay here!

Truly incredible location, elevation is high enough that it rains every night and cools down. You can hear frogs sing every night. Lizards are easy to be found. The vegetation is incredible. Hosts are fantastic. They will bring you fruit that is in season and help you with anything. The home is on water catchment which helped make our skin super soft in a matter of days. The home is not meant for luxury but they have priced it well.

We just loved this place. Just large enough for our family of four to have some space after a day out. Kitchen is small but fine for making meals while traveling. Grocery store not too far away and coffee shops too. (I am hooked on cappuccinos in the morning.). Hot water was better in evening than morning and internet was spotty. What we loved most was the quiet location and feeling of privacy. The frogs sang every night - wonderful. We were easily able to explore the whole south side of the island from this location. Shelly provided fresh fruit from the property and was a lovely hostess.

We love this house so much. It has plenty of space and a nice deck. Place is quite and safe. Big lot with beautiful fruit trees - lots of space for kids to play outside. Very friendly host. Thanks a lot, Shelley, for your tips and advises about island and of course for bananas! House located close to Black Sand beach, Green sand beach, South point cliff, Captain Cook, Pohue beach and volcanoes. Short drive to Ocean view market and Naalehu We hope to see you again and stay at your place on our next trip to Big Island.
