Really hate writing reviews which are not 100% positive, but just couldn't manage it with this property. It was quite a reasonably priced property and we were grateful to get something when booking quite late in the year.
Firstly, there was a COVID-19 case at the property just before us, which is beyond any homeowner's control (Kim was very apologetic and money was promptly reimbursed), so our stay was put back a day due to what the owners called a 'deep clean'. Not sure what they did to deep clean the place... yes, kitchen and toilet were clean. Side table surfaces were dusty (couldn't have been cleaned), toothpaste splatter on the window above bathroom sink and shower curtain with black mold on it (as well as above the shower and in the middle bedroom on the roof). There were cobwebs everywhere (particularly in the front bedroom inside the window frames - all frames were very dirty and dusty) inside and out and we were visited by several spiders over the five nights.
The table tennis table listed in the amenities is not at the property and owners didn't respond when we asked about it. The outdoor area is stones only and very dusty and dirty - not really somewhere to relax with nibbles and a drink. We paid for linen and when we arrived there was no bed linen on the beds. The care takers were called promptly and provided bed linen for all the beds which I then proceeded to make myself. This may, of course, have been overlooked when cleaners did the 'deep clean'... There was no tea or coffee but the glad wrap, salt, pepper and oil were appreciated.
On a positive note, we did have some trouble with playing DVDs through the PS3 on the first night, and the owners were very helpful working through that with us the next day. The location is pretty good - a 700m walk to the beach on the very northern end of town. Moonta is a fantastic little town with lovely pubs, shops and restaurants. We will be back to this lovely part of the Yorke Peninsula.
I think maybe Casey and Kim might need to look at who is cleaning their place and adjust the listing to reflect the reality of the amenities at the house.
