Deluxe resorts, bars and cafés back onto Medano Beach, one of the liveliest strands in Cabo San Lucas. Here, you’ll find plenty of watersports activities and restaurants serving the region’s seafood specialties. Join fellow vacationers enjoying the exciting and raucous atmosphere on this popular stretch of sand.
Rent kayaks or Jet Skis to take out on the waves of the Gulf of California. Try stand-up paddling on boards from the tour operators on the beach. For an even greater thrill, participate in parasailing, allowing you to appreciate the picturesque terrain from high in the air.
Purchase souvenirs, such as hats, shirts and jewelry, from the vendors patrolling the beach. Read a book in the shade of a swaying palm tree, while the rest of your family members swim in the clear and warm water. Get cool with an ice cream as you watch the sunset.
Enjoy a meal with a view of the water in one of the thatched-roofed restaurants. Have American or traditional Mexican cuisine here. Attend a party at the so-called cantinas, where you can order beer by the bucketful. Try craft beer from one of the trendier bars with rooftop views of the beach.
Stay at one of the stylish hotels at the rear of the strand with swimming pools and numerous amenities. Between the beach and the marina stands the Puerto Paraíso mall, which has a cinema and plenty of dining and shopping options.
Note that the beach, which is free to access at all times, is particularly busy on weekends and during spring break for many schools.
Medano Beach is on the northern side of the Cabo San Lucas Marina in the heart of the town. Keep heading north to get to Playa las Viudas. Visit other nearby sights such as Playa Empacadora, Divorce Beach and Lovers Beach.
