Great spot for Grad trip!
My family and I stayed at The Gingerbread House for my brothers graduation from JMU. House is exactly as pictured and described. It’s a perfect and cozy home for family. There were two living areas we could spread out and a perfect little dining room for family meals. The hosts had these cute little bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash set up and plenty of linens. Really lovely stay.

Wonderful!
The house, or should I say the chalet had everything we needed. The proximity to the ski area, only 5 minutes, was amazing. Nice and quiet neighborhood. Loved every minute of our stay.

Great house for our family!
We had a family get together over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend to visit Massanutten and the water park. The house work out perfect for us, the kids loved the loft and having their own space. The house worked great for us.

Visited the area for my nephews weeding at a local Vineyard. House was just as the description said it was. Location was great. Close to town and a quiet drive through the Shenandoah National Park. Even through JMU had a football game it was easy to get around town, no crazy crowds

Nice house at a great location
Had a great time. The house is located in a resort community so plenty of fun things to do. It’s also twenty minutes from Shenandoah National Park entrance. We went there several times and really enjoyed the hiking trails in the park. House is clean and Scott very nice and quick to our questions. WiFi is also very convenient as we needed to work from the house for some time.

Very nice and cozy!
Overall experience was really good. Price is reasonable and the cottage was very cozy and location is great. We had all amenities needed. If I was to make any complaint, the only downside is that at night time, it got really cold inside the bedrooms. Upgrading the windows would make this little place just perfect!

Beautiful home with a woodsey feel. This house had more then enough space for the 8 of us. My entire family loved the house and surrounding area. House was very clean and well kept. I would definitely rent several times again. The Management was very responsive and Lee was phenomenal to work with.

Lovely weekend stay to ski
I brought my daughter and her friends for the weekend to celebrate her18th birthday. Everything was easy on the house match the description with regard to cleanliness, the accommodations, the proximity to skiing, and the other local attractions. The house is cozy, well kept and well equipped to include updated appliances, fast wifi and movie/tv access via roku. It was a beautiful weekend and we were able to get in two full days of skiing. Family Vacation
The house was great, very clean. Supermarlet is a short drive away. Lots of resturant options on Main road in Harrionburg. We especially loved the 1835 Smokehouse (went there 3 times) and the Squirrel ice cream. Some of the activities we did were the civil war battlefields as well as Luray Caverns, Endless Carverns and Shenendoah Caverns. Luray and Shenendoah Caverns also have other things to do on property. We went Hiking along Skyline Drive and pulled over at the overlooks to get breathaking pictures as well as hike. A great place to social distance from others while having a great time.

October Skyline trip
We were two couples coming in from different states to visit. We had a great stay. Got there on a Thursday and found Ciros Italian restaurant. Great place to eat. Food was the best. Friday we drove the Skyline. Stopped at a few winery’s. Friday night we went to El Paso Mexican restaurant. Another great choice. Saturday we visited the Luray Caverns. That was worth the visit. Definitely got our exercise there. It’s about a two mile walk. We visited River hill distillery for a whiskey tasting and tour. Then to castle winery and our last stop of the day was the Purple Wolf winery. Great venue. Then Sunday we are heading home in the rain. It was a great time.

Excellent vacation
We really enjoyed our stay at the gingerbread House. All the cute little features of the house, it really lives up to its name! We found the house to be extremely well stocked, plenty of extra towels, sheets, and blankets and pillows. The kitchen was in great working order as well—there were knives that actually cut! (Often a problem at vacation homes 😂). Two small things that I shared with the owners during our stay, one of the kitchen cupboards came off the hinges, and a couple of the lights did not have lightbulbs in them. However, this in no way diminished our stay. kids really enjoyed the video games, The chalkboard, and the other games that were provided. One suggestion would be to have an outdoor seating area for meals. Thank you so much, really enjoyedm this day and would stay again with pleasure.

This property had one problem after another. The first, there was no electricity in the kitchen. The microwave didn't work, the coffee machine didn't work. When I reached out to the management company, they told me that I would have to go around back into a crawlspace and attempt to flip the circuit switch. The worst part of our stay was on the last day, when we found bedbugs. After many phone calls and hours on the phone to VRBO, Expedia and the management company, they wanted to issue me a pitiful refund for the weekend, I had to reverse the charge through my credit card agency. The place was overall dirty-cobwebs in the lights fixtures, dated, bedbugs, and toilets that gurgled in the sink when you flushed them. I would not recommend this place at all. I did reached out to the the management company before writing this review because I wanted to offer them the opportunity to clean up their property and rent it again, but they were not sympathetic at all. I do not believe they have taken the proper steps to get rid of the bedbugs or have any intention of doing so by the way they dismissed my complaint.

Very clean - good for families
We had a great time here. Master bedroom is great and has a good mattress. Back deck is peaceful. Several Roku TVs around the house. And various games for the kids were found in the loft which was a nice touch.
