Amazing lakeside getaway
My stay was absolutely perfect!!! Kimmy and Joe, property caretakers, were incredible and made me feel perfectly at home. The view of the lake was phenomenal and the property had all the amenities you could possibly ask for, 10 out of 10 would recommend and stay again!

Great Lake location!!
We were fortunate that Michigan weather blessed us! Great location but the stairs to lower level are a challenge for elderly (we are 70 and 74). Next time we would go for upper level! Even so, they are pet friendly and we had a small dog so the space was great and gave her freedom contained by steps!! Would definitely recommend!

We liked that our cottage was close to the water. We had a relaxing time swimming, using the kayaks, fishing and going out on the pontoon boat. The host (Mike) was very nice and helpful. We knew someone would be available if we needed them. We hope to visit this cottage again.

Incredible lake view!
The cottage fit the three of us perfectly. We enjoyed the lake with boating, jet skiing, fishing and kayaking. The families in the other units were friendly and we gathered at the camp site nightly. The surrounding restaurants were also all very good. It was a great end to our summer before school starts. Thanks for a fun vacation in your cottage. Cathy

This is an awesome location. Right on the water and beautifully landscaped property.
I stayed in the lower level of this 2-story, 2-unit home. It is perfect for a couple. The kitchen is small, yet very functional. A very comfortable queen size bed. The view and access to the water can’t be beat. As this is a first floor unit, the ceilings are low. The owner Mike is awesome and responds in a matter of minutes. Will definitely book again!

Nice for relaxing week!
We wanted a relaxing week away, and we achieved that goal. It was nice to have the mat out in the lake, kayaks, and the pontoon boat to anchor at the sandbar and swim. The owner was very responsive to any questions or anything that we needed. The only thing I will say and this is no fault of anyone’s but we are all over 6‘,2“ tall and the height of ceilings in few spots was low. Nothing impossible to work around but item to consider.

Beautiful view!
Let me start off by saying you can't get closer to the water than this 2 bedroom apartment! The view of Round lake was beautiful and tranquil especially for my husband, and I visiting Michigan our home state. Our first night we had problems with the mattress caving in the center and the next day I sent a message to Mike the owner, and he had his caretakers come over and replace it immediately and Mike offered to let us use the pontoon boat to make up for our first night and that was greatly appreciated, but not necessary. We also meant the caretakers and they were both very nice and asked us if we needed anything, and that made it even more special! Mike has put a lot of money in his beautiful steps and sitting areas which was gorgeous! My only negative would be if your older you might want to stay in the ranch or the upstairs apartment, because carrying suitcases up and down was definitely a hike, but we loved it and we look forward to staying again next year! Thank you all!!

Truly Amazing Experience
The property is clean and beautiful - very private. But as great as the place is - Mike (the property owner) is the best vrbo landlord/vrbo property renter I personally have ever dealt with. He is flexible & great at communicating. If anything is missing - he finds a way to address the request. Mike seems to rent his places as a service to people who want a great experience or to people transitioning for a move (perfect for this VRBO). It’s been a treat working with him when compared to my other rental experiences. The lakefront place is also beautiful. This place is right on the lake - kayaks and water utilities available. It is quiet, spacious, perfect for a single person, small family, a small group of friends or occasional visitors. Short or long term work & I feel lucky that this place was available - posted on VRBO I have booked a lot through other people in the past - I don’t imagine you’ll have a better experience than you would here. The property is as explained if not better. Thanks Mike if you’re seeing this! I give my highest recommendation given the experience I’ve had

It was dirty with a sewage smell
Mike answered all of our questions quickly, and we were feet from a lake. Those were the only 2 positive things about it. I'm not sure why it says Manitou beach because it's technically Round Lake. There was a horrible sewage smell coming from the bathroom, there was tons of hair in the shower drain, there was also soap scum all over the shower, what look like to be spots of blood on theon the bottom of the bathroom cabinet, and spider webs with dead flies caught in it in the window seals of the living room. The picture of the boat shown in the description must have been when he first bought it because there is massive tears and holes all throughout the boat, and there is a huge blood stain on the corner of the boat. It stopped working on us a few times out in the water. We slept in the living room because there wasn't a TV in the bedroom, and when we lifted up the futon there was a dead frog very dried up to where it has been there for a while with a bunch of plastic knives by it. With all of that being said it makes me think that they are not following covid-19 standards, or it would be a little bit cleaner. One other thing that does bother me is on the paperwork on the refrigerator it says September through May you get discounted prices, and I paid full price for it. On our way home I just so happened to look at the rental again for the month of September and it went down $57. It would have really been nice for him to been a honest man and let me know that I would get a discount since it was September. Lesson learned though! I have pictures of everything that I am talking about from the dead frog, to the blood on the walls, to the hair in the drain! Thank God I brought flip flops with me because that is what I wore inside the shower!

Highly recommend
We highly recommend this rental! The house was as described and felt very comfortable and welcoming. We also enjoyed the area a lot between the lake and local restaurants. The property owner was very polite and helpful and answered quickly when we ran into a minor issue at check-in. We really enjoyed our stay and plan on going back next year :)
