Lumbini Park is a 7.5-acre (3-hectare) lakeside park known for its 3-D laser display, musical fountain, speedboats and picnic areas. Come to relax on the banks of Hussain Sagar or spend a full day enjoying the park’s many attractions, including evening light shows.
Walk along the paths to appreciate the park’s joyous atmosphere. Lumbini Park is popular with local and visiting families on weekends the grounds are packed. Children can play in a small wave pool or ride on a toy train.
Take a seat amid 2,000 other spectators in the auditorium for a daily laser show about the history of Hyderabad. The spectacle generates a 3-D tour of the city.
Eat a picnic along Hussain Sagar or enjoy refreshments and snacks in one of the cafés around the park. For a small fee, take the ferry ride to see the Buddha statue in the middle of the lake. If you’re feeling adventurous, try speedboating, which also has a fee.
Watch the sun set over the lake and then make your way to the musical fountain. There are entertaining displays every night with synchronized lights, water and music from popular Hindi and Telugu movies.
In the center of the park, appreciate the 57-foot(17.5-meter) Buddha statue that’s soaked in brilliant light at night. Keep track of time with the working clock made out of colorful flowers.
The park stays opens from morning until evening. Like many attractions in the city, it is closed on Mondays. There is a fee for entry. Pay extra for activities such as boating, rides and the laser show.
Lumbini Park is located at the southern point of Hussain Sagar in the center of Hyderabad, near the Birla Mandir Temple. There are several bus stops and a train station within easy walking distance of the park.
