The staff could not have been more helpful, & the hotel is a pleasant, if slightly faded, establishment, set in a lovely location. Nice restaurant, great staff, with probably the best cheese omelette we've even eaten. Reasonably priced & good quality house Prosecco. Breakfast was chaotic first thing (items were missing), & the citrus bowl offering was dubious (on the edge of fermentation), but for a vegetarian their choice of yoghurt was excellent - no gelatine! A few niggles detracted: Our bedroom was nice enough, but too hot. There was a ceiling fan (which needed a good dusting), & a pedestal fan was provided, so the temperature was just about bearable. Leaving a window open, when we left the room, was not necessarily an option, as the bedrooms on the bar side let out onto an open roof so security was a concern. Noise, from the bar terrace, was a bit of an issue on Saturday night - especially as we had to keep the windows open to cool the room. The bathroom was carpeted, not something we'd seen since the 70s, & there was nowhere to put toiletries, except on a tiny three tier glass corner unit - used to store the towels. There was a bath (hurrah!), but the very small bathroom was cramped & oddly set out, making it a one person at a time affair. A real annoyance was the bedroom door closing mechanisms. It was not possible to shut your door quietly!
Nice room, the bed was very comfortable & linen was fine.
Overall, value for money, very pleasant location & worth a visit!
