"It will be great when the work has finished and we can see the beautiful building on the inside. Would love to see the ball room . I stay here regularly now as I love Shrewsbury ( I have moved away now ) it’s great to visit I stay at the Lion every time I visit. The staff are always friendly and happy to help . "

"Great value accommodation, the evening menu is varied and very reasonably priced, we had curries which were delicious, good selection of beers and lagers . The breakfast which was included is brilliant, you select what you want the night before and it includes cereals, full English, fish and yoghurt and fruit. The bed was comfortable, room and en-suite very clean. This is a great place to stay "

"Cosy room oozing with character.. The staff upon check-in (and check-out of course) were great.. helped us to our room, showed us everything we needed to know.. the room was spotless, luckily for me as I forgot mine, toiletries were provided, including shower gel and shampoo.. I was performing at a local event and was back late but that was absolutely fine and nice and easy upon getting back to my room. Will definitely stay again."

"The room was clean and warm but dated. The shower was poor due to mixer tap heat control. Overlooked unkempt garden. Only met one staff member who was nice and polite."

"Our stay was fabulous. The food is 12/10 We had our dog with us so we had to eat in the bar but it has a roaring fire and a lovely atmosphere and I’d argue this was the best seat in the house. Our room was in a little outbuilding and it was just perfect. Super quiet of a night too. The servers are all very young and the best and most smiley service I’ve had in a long time "

"The owner was really accommodating when we brought our child and needed an extra bed. She went out of her way to make us all feel comfortable and welcome "

"I was given details of a specific flat with entry to obtain the keys, panicked when keys weren’t there , quickly told how to obtain spares, when I opened the door there was already someone there. Told they had changed and got the new keys etc. what they don’t tell you is that there a sound alarm so when the arc went loud it tripped this and we got a call. "Everything excellent BUT BEWARE YOU NEED TO BOOK THE SPA IN ADVANCE. I expected as a hotel guest that you can use the spa anytime, not so, you have to book ahead. Major disappointment as we wanted to use it the day of our departure, this was the main attraction of this hotel, very sad departure. I feel that the staff should ask when you book if you would like to book a slot just as most hotels do for the restaurant. "
