New, clean, modern, above average Hostel

We loved Forteleza Suites! So easy to walk right out the front door to shops and restaurants and all the sites of San Juan. They have a community area with coffee and cocoa and even a basket of towels and sunscreen should you need anything for the beach. The decor and building is authentic and makes you feel a part of the city. The full kitchen was nice and the beds super comfortable. The little deck was very neat and surprisingly the room was quiet even with the street out our window! Friendly and helpful staff, and everything was very safe and clean. Hopefully we’ll get the chance to go back to San Juan and if we do we will definitely stay here again!

I recently stayed at this hotel during my first solo trip to Puerto Rico, and it was a great experience! The rooms were clean and spacious, with a nice bathroom and cozy couch. The staff were friendly and helpful, but there was often a lack of presence in the lobby, making it unsettling at times. More visibility would improve the experience. I appreciated the texting and WhatsApp options for communication, and one staff member provided AMAZING local recommendations. As a female solo traveler, I was concerned about the neighborhood due to a LARGE police presence and local warnings, but this didn’t overshadow my positive stay. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for a memorable experience—I’ll definitely be back soon!
