Quiet retreat
We had a wonderful pre-Christmas stay. Loved the location and the privacy. House had everything we needed to keep us entertained - the game room and hot tub were tons of fun. Would definitely recommend it for families or a group of friends.

Softball Tournament Getaway
We stayed at the property for a weekend for our daughter’s softball tournament. Beautiful views from inside and out. We enjoyed cooking off in the large pool. Great local restaurants and grocery store close to property. We would definitely go back!!!

Awesome getaway
We really enjoyed our short stay here. It was amazing even looked better than the pictures. We loved the view from the house, the warm pool and the hot tub. Place was clean and everything was labeled and well organized. We did see a bear close to the property on both days we were there which was a bit scary but pretty cool. Overall it was an awesome place!!!

Our family and pet had a wonderful time. The pool and hot tub were great. Views from the deck and pool excellent. Any issue, only one, was delt with quickly. Any questions also answered quickly. Was nice to see so many stars again.

Didn’t disappoint. Awesome stay in the mountains
What a wonderful place. We rented for six days and were able to spend time with our son in college and have he and some friends over for a nice cookout. All the amenities listed were all top-notch. Property is accessible to mini hiking trails national Forest and (Parkway 40 minutes). Landrum has a couple grocery stores, restaurants, and shops, and close by the town Tryon. We definitely plan to be back. Host was very responsive for any questions in needs.

Beautiful home
My family and I vacation every year together and this was definitely one of our favorite places. Beautiful, clean, had everything we could have possibly needed, and timely communication. We had six kids and they all loved this home. While also giving the 5 adults plenty of space to have quite time. The views are true to picture, breathtaking!

Nice Pool House
Doug was a great host, we had an issue with the internet and he took care of it quickly. The House was great and the pool was very nice and at the right temperature. House was also very close to town but felt like you was out in the middle of nowhere. We will definitely be coming back.

Best rental we've ever stayed at!!
This house was amazing! The 12 of us (my husband and I, 7 kids ages 11-26, 2 of their spouses, and 1 boyfriend) were able to come together as a family in the beautiful HUGE pool, the dining room table that fit us all at once (a rare find!), and the wonderful hot tub. We cooked almost all our meals at the house, and we were constantly shocked by how incredibly well-stocked the kitchen was! Doug truly thought of everything with this house. And the breathtaking views were beyond words. Highly recommend and hope to someday return.

Clean, cozy, and everything you’d need!
My family had the most wonderful time at the Butter Street Retreat! The house is stocked with everything one would need. The beds are comfortable. The house is spacious and highly recommend bringing family or friends with if there’s room! This place is made for sharing and enjoying by many! And the views were amazing! We enjoyed the outdoor firepit as well as the indoor wood burning stove! The pool and hot tub were also a hit! And to top it all off, the views were breathtaking! Thank you for providing such a great place for my family to make memories we will cherish forever!

Butter Street is SWEET! 🥰
Exquisite property in which to spend time with family and friends. The stunning view, the sparkling pool (where I spent most of my time) surely restores the soul. Our host Doug was promptly responsive to any questions we had and was very welcoming. Well appointed with bath and pool towels, paper products, and the labeling of kitchen cabinets was appreciated! Anything you need for cooking a nice meal around the large family dining table! Aaahh I will cherish my memories of Butter Street Retreat! 💞

Gateway to Heavenly Views!
The driveway to Butter Street Retreat is a gateway to heavenly views! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and didn’t want to leave! We were so comfortable with the thoughtfully decorated, appointed, and stocked home we barely wanted to do day trips away from Butter Street. However, the home is located in such a great area that when we did leave the amazing pool and hot tub, we got to have so many lovely experiences. We drove on the Blue Ridge Parkway and climbed Mount Mitchell, we saw Chimney Rock, Greenville, and Asheville, as well as made some wonderful memories in the pool and the lookout room. We really enjoyed the coffee bar, and fully stocked kitchen, and were so happy the beds were dressed and that we had fluffy towels for showers, and how clean the home is. We were also so thankful that we could bring our 13-year-old dog to share the experience, and didn’t have to leave her home! Thanks so much for making checking in an out so easy and taking such great care of this beautiful home!

Outstanding...once again!
This was our second stay at Butter Street Retreat and we are already discussing when to go back. This house is just the perfect vacation home! Our first trip, last year, was an adult get-a-way where we barely left the pool. This year, we brought our families and took full advantage of the house's capacity. We were able to have full group family meals and game playing in the dining room. We gathered to talk and watch a movie in the living room. The house is so beautiful, clean, organized, and offers all the amenities for comfort....did I mention beautiful!?! The view is breathing-taking on a sunny day and even when a storm is coming across the mountains. Even though the house is wrapped in the mountain, the small town is near by for convenient grocery shopping and food. We found ourselves enjoying the relaxation of the home and pool, that we only left a few times to learn of South Carolina's Revolution War history and to sample some local ice cream flavors. We left grateful for the time we were able to spend being together and thanking Doug for sharing Butter Street Retreat with us!

AMAZING!
Absolutely beautiful, fantastic views as advertised! From dinning, hiking, Hot Air balloon ride, one of our best vacations! Unfortunately we left and a day later the hurricane hit. Views!!!
We took the family on a mountain getaway for Thanksgiving. The views from the living room were like a postcard! The extra large dining room was perfect for dinners and game nights. There are two living rooms with large tv's that allow the kids to have their own space. The kitchen was very large with lots of space and very nice appliances. We especially enjoyed the coffee bar that was fully stocked. So many nice things about this house! We enjoyed the hot tub but we want to return in the summer to be able to use the pool! I also should mention there are lots of towels and extra sheets, pillows, and blankets.

Magnificent views!
Bittersweet Retreat was one of the best homes we've rented thru vrbo. As a last minute get away we booked the stay and Doug responded quickly. It's a super location- much closer to Tryon (about 5 or 6 minutes) than we realized so we were able enjoy dining & shopping both in Landrum & Tryon, even though we were only there 3 days! The home is beautifully landscaped with nice grassy areas around the home- unlike many mountain homes you have alot of areas to walk around outside. There's a great firepit area, that you can have a bonfire or just sit amongst the trees and hedges to enjoy the peace and quiet. The pool is huge, clean and kept at a perfect temperature! There were several floats and very nice pool furniture to relax on while sunning! In fact there were many sitting areas outside, on the decks and around the pool and hot tub. The house is very well equipped and everything is labeled so we didn't have to rummage thru every cabinet to find things or flip every switch to figure out the lights- we loved that! Bed were very comfortable, bathrooms were just as pictured! But the most impressive part of this house are the incredible views from every room! With ceiling to floor windows and glass doors in every living area, the dining room and master bedroom, the views were phenomenal! Sunsets were a must see every night with the beautiful colors in the sky behind the mountains as the sun set! This was a great home and enjoyed the stay!
