Scenic View Retreat is a two bedroom brick cabin located at the edge of the Hocking Hills, with a beautiful fishing pond just outside your door.

This cabin offers all the comforts of home with satellite TV and a reclining leather sofa where you can relax in front of the wood burning fire place. If nature is what you crave this cabin is in the middle of nowhere, no wi-fi or cell service to interrupt nature. You can relax in the hot tub with a view of the pond or have a picnic lunch around the fire pit. There are also trails through the woods where you can take a nature hike. Close to many area attractions we're sure you will find everything you need to enjoy a tranquil, relaxing vacation in the beautiful Hocking Hills ( There’s no Wi-Fi and very Limited cell service.)

Very nice peaceful location.
Great location and very clean. It was close enough to hocking hills for us to go to cedar falls and the train ride in Nelsonville. Would stay here again highly recommend.

2nd stay
This was our 2nd stay at the property. It hasnt changed since the first stay. The house could use some updates and repairs but we knew that going in. We like like it because of the secluded location and the fact that it has no wifi or cell signal. Its a very relaxing place to stay.

The cabin was nice and comfertable. It was a little too far out for me. It was easy to find - but with all the rain - a car was not a good choise to drive - SUV would have been better. The only thing I did not like was WIFI. But was a good weekend - I felt safe.

Overall great experience, glad we had a 4 wheel drive vehicle. It had rained and the driveaway got a bit muddy. It was quiet and cozy, everything was as advertised.

Perfect, secluded getaway
An amazing, wooded secluded brick cabin! We loved walking out the front door right to the pond. We caught tons of sunfish and bluegill, all sizes! The fire pit was perfect with the swing cooking grate. The property inside and out is clean and has everything you need. The bathroom was perfect and water pressure/cleanliness was great! We can't wait to come back!

This property was very clean! It was an excellent getaway as there is no WiFi or cell reception. They had a nice collection of dvd’s and satellite tv. The only thing I didn’t like was the lighting inside. It was dark.

Very nice!
We had a very nice stay. Everything that is listed is accurate. My only thoughts: we could not get the Dish to work (but did enjoy your movies!), some jets in the hot tub do not work, the grill was not cleaned from last visitor. and lights were very dim, maybe put light bulbs in the lamps? Overall, we had a wonderful stay and will be back!

The place was a brick building converted into a living space. Very outdated and musty smelling. In the middle of nowhere! No cell or wi fi made us feel uncomfortable also. Left early!

Cozy and clean 👍
Wonderful experience. Definitely away from civilization. We stayed in the winter and loved the fireplace. Wouldn’t want to go if there was snow because of the roads getting there are very hilly and curvy. Beautiful surroundings. We want to come back in warmer weather to explore outside more. Exceptionally clean. Cleaner than most hotels. No service or wifi. Which was just fine by us. We did lose power due to severe storms and tornadoes in the area. The host was extremely helpful in guiding us to things we could do till it came back on. Despite that my husband and I had a peaceful weekend to ourselves and that’s just what we wanted. 🙂

Me and my wife arrived on Monday. Suppose to leave Wednesday. We left Tuesday afternoon. The cabin was clean. But the amenities were horrible maybe 2 jetters working in hot tub. It was like just sitting in hot water. The so called stocked pond was bad it stunk and not to mention I did not catch or see 1 fish. I baited the water not one fish came to eat night crawlers. Big disappointment was excited to have a cabin with a stocked pond and a hot tub and both were a huge disappointment since that is all to do beside have a fire.

Peace and Quiet
This cabin is exactly what you'd think it is and exactly as advertised. We didn't see any other people the entire weekend. Hot tub was very clean. Kitchen is a little small but is very well stocked. The bathroom is tiny but was very clean. Everything is exactly the way it's pictured. Now for the best part - the fishing! The pond has a ton of fish in it. I caught bluegill and bass every day I was there. The bluegill are above average size and put up a great fight. The bass were small but they put up a nice fight as well. I'm looking forward to coming back when I have more time to fish! If you're looking for hiking, about 10 minutes up the road is Clear Creek Metro Park. They have about 10 trails of varying lengths and difficult. Great views, picnic shelters at some, lakes and ponds, too. And trout fishing in the creek that runs through that area. This cabin is a well-kept secret getaway! You'd be hard-pressed to find a more scenic, relaxing, and quiet location than this.

Beautiful view
The cabin is a little dated and could use some repairs. It was fine as we suspected it from the pictures. The bad: satellite tv was out a lot of the time because it rained most of the time we were there. Not unexpected. There is a small hole in one window to the big bedroom. Almost looks like a bb hit it. We had problems with 1 of the storm doors staying closed. I tightened up the handle and it was fine after that. The lighting is very poor. Some brighter bulbs would be great. The good: the beds are pretty comfortable. The whole place was spotless and there were no odors at all. The view is amazing! The hot tub is great but the cover has seen better days. If you need a cell signal, forget it. I had one (att) in certain places in the yard but only for a minute or 2. If darkness and being in the wilderness scares you, dont go. But we are planning our next visit and hopefully in better weather. If we could have stayed longer, we would have. Highly recommended!
