We had 2 families stay for 3 nights. Our hope was to be there when there was snow to play in. We missed fresh snow, but there was older snow on the ground.
Two couples each took one of the bedrooms downstairs. We were quite sure they were NOT queens, as advertised, but were fulls. Some of the adults were very uncomfortable in those beds, and others were OK. The one bedroom upstairs, near the kitchen, is a larger bed. We gave that one to our elderly grandparent that came with us so he wouldn't have to use the stairs.
We had 4 kids that shared the room with all the beds together. That worked out great! That room looked to have 2 fulls and 2 singles. It could comfortably sleep 6 kids no problem.
We used the wood burning stove for heat and I must say it really cranked out the heat! The upstairs was so toasty we had to open windows. Unfortunately, not all the windows are in good working order, so be careful! The property manager needs to assess the windows. Some don't stay open properly and some are missing screens. There was a nice supply of wood for us to use during our entire stay.
The kitchen was great. We mostly had all our needs met. The plates, bowls, and cups are made in a way that isn't the most efficient in the dishwasher, so you may have to run extra loads. They are large and bulky and don't nestle well in the dishwasher. Tons of kitchen accessories and utensils. We did need to use our own salt, pepper, and sugar. The refrigerator/freezer worked fine, as did the drip coffee maker and toaster.
Just outside the house, in between this house and it's neighbors, is a perfect hill to sled on. It's not super long, but totally fits the bill to just walk outside and play for a bit. We also loaded into the car and went to the nearby sledding park. It's only like 10 minutes away. Very convenient for our kiddos to burn off energy.
We couldn't get the TV to work the way we thought it was supposed to. The satellite wouldn't connect. We weren't really interested in having the TV on anyway. We watched one movie that happened to be saved on the DVR and that was all we did on the TV.
We didn't really use the porch off the kitchen much, but it's a nice porch with a good view. We did use the grill out there one night and it worked fine for our needs, with all the necessary supplies.
Both the main entry door upstairs, and the entry door downstairs by the bedrooms, have a perfect place to kick off shoes and wet clothes to hang up. No need to track any of that mess into the house. There is a lot of hanging space and room for shoes and sleds.
There were no games. So if you want to busy yourself in the home with games or puzzles, bring your own. The big table by the couches could easily fit a puzzle, if you want to sit on the floor.
