The good: The place is very large and comfortable. The rooms are nice, attractive, and it's a very easy and comfortable place to stay. The pictures do it justice. The location is great, i like to take long walks around, and was able to do so, quite comfortably. the view west towards the mountains/foothills was very pleasant. I'm not a golfer so couldn't care less about the golf course and that didn't matter. Jacuzzis and pools were close and convenient and nice, if a little dated. One thing to do if you walk around--nod hello to neighbors and say hello and how are you. everyone is very friendly and pleasant so it makes your walk more pleasant. and there are a huge number of lemon and orange and grapefruit trees as you walk around. for those that are close to the street, you can pick the fruit and bring it back to the unit for a snack or breakfast, but don't take more than you are going are going to eat, that would be rude. there are supposedly big horn sheep in the area, you have to be careful around them, but i didn't see any myself.
they said they didn't have seasonings, but they really do, there is a lazy susan type thing with lots of seasonings in it. not sure if they are fresh, we didn't use them, but they are at least there.
the not so good (not going to say bad, but this could be improved): there is a lot of deferred maintenance in this unit. The light switches are mostly broken and the knobs are falling off the switches. The beds are showing their age and are a little too soft. the couch in the living room is too worn in/out, and is very soft. the dishwasher utensil spot is broker and opens up as you open or close the diswasher door, so the utentsils spill all over the interior. They really need to take this unit off the market for about two weeks to a month and refresh it and fix things. That would make this a spectacular unit and would avoid the reviews that say the same thing as this.
i'm also disappoined in the management company. We called about a few things, noone answered and they didn't call back till the next day. this is definitely not the fault of the owners or the unit, its the management company. they need to fix their phone system so it doesn't hang up on you and so they answer it after hours. even when we finally got someone, it was clear it was an answering service and they knew nothing about the unit. the owner might want to consider another management company
but we would rent again
