Gorgeous and Very Functional House for Family Reunion
This gorgeous house worked so well for 2 families of our family reunion group (and could work for 3 families just as well). The house was represented very well by the online photos and did not disappoint in any way. The three master bedroom suites with lanai's were separated nicely to allow for quiet and privacy from each other when needed; and the suite which had the lanai room enclosed and outfitted with bunk beds was fabulous (and cost saving) for our cousin, her husband and two children. All of us were extremely comfortable and there was so much room in the perfectly outfitted upstairs living area with lanai. With lots of windows and french doors, the house stayed nice and cool (even though we stayed in August - September) and gave us that perfect Hawaiian vacation ambiance. The kitchen was superbly outfitted with everything we needed for making our own meals. Garden Island Rentals was so attentive and checked in with us regularly, even though we had no problems or concerns; we highly recommend this house and Garden island Rentals.

Wonderful stay with family
Our family had three generations staying in this lovely, spacious house. Great for sunrises and sunsets on the balconies, cooking meals together in the well-equipped kitchen, dinner on the deck, and games inside. Short walks along the green belt to Brennecke’s and Poipu as well as Shipwreck Beach, with a nice assortment of beach gear available to borrow. Management was very helpful and responsive. It was a wonderful stay!

Totally upgraded, clean, contemporary home. Well appointed in every regard. Three equal sized primary bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Great for three couples. Steps from the greenbelt trail. 10 minute walk to the coast.

Good location, suited our needs
Good location for walking to nearby beaches and hiking trails. Breezes on upper level was good, but everyone used A/C in the bedrooms. Immediate minor problem with ants which was addressed by our cleaning more fully and wiping down (out) ant trails. Identified early on that driveway motion light was nonfunctional (safety issue) and damaged screens. Later identified that refrigerator water filter needed to be replaced. Texts were responded to quickly, but no action was taken over the nearly three weeks we occupied the rental. Lots of odds and ends in the garage for vacation use, but some were nonfunctional and could be eliminated.

Kauai Marathon Trip
Great location. Short walk to beach and Heritage Trail. Loved the main living area being on the 2nd floor and ability to open windows and doors to catch the ocean cooling breeze. Also great outdoor spaces. Downgraded the house a bit because of living room ceiling fan not working properly even after maintenance visit. Also freezer worked but didn't keep things completely frozen. Bikes need some attention.

excellent home for our family, children and grandchildren. our sons wife has a sister who lives only thirty miles away on the island and with covid she has not seen the nephews in two years! With the large well equipped kitchen we could all congregate at our place for suppers and have plenty of room for 14 We loved the porch for relaxing and the new remodeling,Looks like youhave more planned. Also the six of us appreciated the three spacious bathrooms

Quiet family neighborhood
Nice neighborhood with paths to beaches and restaurants. The Lanai makes this house. Our family made many memories there. We were surprised when we arrived and saw the house was different from the pictures, being that it was under renovation. Some good changes and some not. But none the less, a beautiful property. The lanai makes this house and made up for the uninviting and sparse family room. The Queen mattress’s need an upgrade. The management company was great and make sure to rent electric bikes (Pedego Poipu)under Kalapaki joes. That’s the best way to see the area.

Spacious Family Vacation Home in Quiet Neighbourhood and Great Location
We were traveling with 4 children ranging in age from 1 to 11 and 6 adults. This home is modern and uncluttered with ample space for families and active children. The kitchen was well equipped and had plenty of room for more than one person preparing food. The lanai off the living room was one of our favourite places to lounge outside as it was shaded and protected from the elements. The bedrooms have air conditioning and are spacious. Each main bedroom has a lovely bathroom ensuite. The master bathroom has been renovated since the photos were taken. The beds were all comfortable. There is an enclosed lanai with sleeping area off one of the lower level bedrooms. This area had decking type flooring and a window that leaked when it rained, but was a great area for the children to sleep. There also was a pack and play available for the baby. The home has plenty of beach chairs, a beach umbrella, boogie boards, sand toys and a foldable wagon which was fabulous in carting gear to and from the beach. There also were some beach cruiser bikes that we did not use. There is a washer and dryer, sink and drying rack in the garage. The dryer was broken but was replaced prior to our departure. We did discover that the smoke detectors were not functioning in the home. There also were some other minor concerns. The property managers were quick to respond to questions. There was some delay in addressing the dryer and smoke detectors, however they were addressed during our two week stay. The location of the home is in a nice quiet neighbourhood with easy walking access to both Shipwreck and Poipu beach areas. There area pool and tennis courts available on the Poipu Kai properties. Overall, I would highly recommend this property for families and I am planning to return.

The house included everything needed for three generations to have a great day at the beach! Wagon, beach towels, snorkel gear, boogie boards and beach chairs! Cooking in the kitchen was a pleasure as most things needed to do so we’re included ( knives were dull though …) I would suggest that the photos be updated on the website as the furniture has been changed and the bed configurations in each room didn’t necessarily match up with the descriptions. The grounds of the resort are lovely and it’s a fairly reasonable 10 minute walk to either the pool or the beach.

The property and location were perfect for our family. The home was a perfect homebase to explore the Island. Walking distance to beaches. Beautiful and safe neighborhood. The bikes, towels and beach gear were so helpful. Kitchen was great and we BBQ’d every night. We will definitely be back!

The kitchen was well equipped with dishes and cooking utensils. The location was good, close to greenway to walk to the beach or very short drive. The mattress on the bed in the downstairs bedroom without the lanai was awful. If one person moves the whole mattress and bed moves. Might be nice to have a few stacking chairs or stools. We had other family members for dinner most nights because the house was big and kitchen otherwise well equipped with dishes and cookware. Mahalo and Aloha.

Perfect Ohana
From the moment we entered the home we knew we were going to hate having to leave. We are truly grateful to have found this property, in such a nice neighborhood, and so close to the beach and beautiful coastal walks. It added another sense of relaxation to our trip. To be able to come back after a day at the beach or exploring and just relax and feel the ocean breeze through the living room on the second floor was another level. Ideal Southshore Spot!
Kai Nui was a perfect location for our two families of four to enjoy Poipu and environs. The two story layout provides plenty of opportunities for socializing together or relaxing in solitude. The lanai off the living room offers a sunset view each evening—our favorite spot! The house is very well stocked with everything you need for days at the beach and evening dinners together. We look forward to returning to Kai Nui for our next vacation.

Great house in a convenient location
It is a great house in a very convenient location. One of the best things about the house is the large amount of windows, which allows in lots of natural light as well as a great breeze. The upstairs bedroom/bathroom and kitchen were recently renovated, which was quite nice! I especially loved what they did with the upstairs bathroom. The downstairs rooms and bathrooms could use a refresh, which appears to be in the queue. Thus, assuming they do the same types of improvements as the upstairs bedroom, they will also be great! The location of the house is hard to beat. It is a less than 10 minute walk to the Hyatt hotel and Shipwreck beach and a 10-15 walk to Poipu beach. Both walks are very pleasant and mostly along the “greenbelt” trail created by the resort. Having AC in each of the bedrooms was really great, especially if you are spending time in the bedrooms during the hot afternoons. Although there isn't AC in the main living area, you don't really need it, given the great breeze and ceiling fan. One difference from the photos is that they removed the screens from the upstairs lanais, which I really liked. Though if folks were planning to use those as extra sleeping areas, just be aware! But in my opinion, those lanais are much better without the screens since you can enjoy the lovely breeze. There were great "extras" that I didn't expect, such as beach chairs, beach toys (i.e. inflatable raft, beach balls, sand castle kit) and a trolley to carry it all in. One small item to improve upon is that the wifi didn't quite reach the entire house. It essentially covers just the living area and kitchen. Given the inconsistent cell coverage in the house (and Kauai, in general), would have been nice to have wifi that could be used throughout the house. Another small item is to update/replace the blinds in the living area and curtains in the upstairs bedroom. Both were a bit difficult to use, given their age and wear and tear. The property management company was really great to work with! Not only are they professional and organized, they are also super responsive. It was as easy as sending a text; I would get a response back in a matter of minutes! Overall, I would recommend staying here!
