"We enjoyed our stay very much. The outdoor spa, especially the ones with ocean views are exceptional. The dining hall is huge. The breakfast and dinner buffets provide high quality and many varieties of food. Shuttle ferry / bus are convenient. The sunrise and sunset at the viewing platform are beautiful."

"Nice big, new, clean room. Amazing breakfast buffet. Convenient walk to the station, castle ruins, and Taisha. A little confusing at first because you enter on the ground floor by the parking garage, but the check in lobby is on the third floor. Just go up and have a nice stay."

"Excellent Ryokan that has been well maintained and cared for given its long history. The old facility is evident and yet despite that, provided a cosy stay. The host was extremely warm and welcoming and showed the hospitality as one would expect from a traditional Ryokan passed down from decades old. "we spent a night in the hotel so we can start hiking Kumano Kodo early next day. nice hotel, they claim they have the biggest outdoor hot spring pool, but we used smaller family pool, the setting is very like outdoor pool."

"Tried to check out and could not as they did not have staff to take payment. Had to leave to make it to bus in order to catch my train and flight. Has to go to extraordinary lengths to pay them after. Also extremely overpriced for this hotel, would never come back."

"This was a very cozy stay. All amenities and documentation were well prepared and the place was clean. The host was very quick to reply on Expedia (less than 5 minutes) even at 20:00/8:00pm. If you have a family, having a rental vehicle is a must since walking is unsafe, especially in the evenings. Parts of the walk from Shimosato station and Taiji station do not have sidewalks. Access to the the Nachi area for Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route isn't the closest as you'd have to take train and bus,...
