We shared an early Christmas Holiday in Key Largo as a family. I give the property 3.5 stars.
The good:
-The Florida Keys are beautiful and you should check them out!
-Mariners Club has a lot of great amenities.
-The propertyâs gated security is taken seriously (which we appreciated).
- The unit is pretty spacious and we were comfortable with 8 people staying.
-The unit was very clean.
-The cost of the unit is competitive.
-The staff of Barefeet Rentals were professional and easy to work with.
-I LOVED the 4 bed/4 bath set up! It was awesome that we all had our own bathrooms!
-The beds were comfortable.
The Not so Good:
-The unit needs updating. I wonât go into details, but I found to be true what most of the other reviewers mentioned. It was disappointing to walk into the property and be greeted by a broken lower oven drawer and a rusted refrigerator door. That said, everything remains functional- just cosmetic issues.
-There is only 1 open pool at Mariners Club. The other is closed for maintenance.
-There is a lot of traffic driving down from Miami Airport (6 lane one direction in spots, bumper to bumper). I would recommend paying the extra to fly into Key West and drive north instead (plus it is beautiful).
-There is not really a beach at this property. There âISâ sand-and the pool area IS âwater frontâ ... but the two donât touch. Donât travel to the keys expecting the iconic beautiful Florida gulf beaches, because you will be disappointed!
If you are on the fence, Iâd recommend checking it out. This property has some cosmetic updating that I hope gets made, but itâs price reflects that it is not as new and shiny as some of the other comp units. We enjoyed oueselves, and spent much of the time soaking up the sun and beautiful views outdoors anyway!
