"Food! This property had the best breakfast - as good if not better than the surrounding restaurants, and if you are foodie, this town is your oyster! Everything is walkable, or hop onto the street car, and the scenic routes are perfectly there for you. Just don't try going shopping. Kinda deserted after leaving Hakodate, so the train schedules are a bit rare for those stations. Hotel had great staff, and very efficient. The bathroom is so-so. Strong odor came from the shower curtains so we asked to get them replaced the first night and the smell was mostly gone. Small bathroom which reminds me of RV bathrooms. Other than the bathroom, no other complaints."

"We had a great holiday staying at JR Inn Hakodate. The location is perfect! The clean, new and stylish building is adjacent to Japan Rail Station. Hakodate’s famous morning markets and seafood restaurants are also just a few steps away. The rooms and facilities are very functional, too. “Hot Spring” public baths are available on the top floor together with free coffee services. Also, there are coin operated washing machines available for the guests. But the most impressive thing about this hotel is their friendly and sincere staff. In fact, after we flew back to Tokyo, Mr. Miyazawa of the hotel called us about the coin purse my husband left in the room, and he kindly sent it to us. Mr. Miyakawa’s act just shows their sincerity and hospitality. Would love to go back to the hotel soon! "

"The best resort that I had stayed for my Hokkaido trip. The staff is very efficient and shout out to Mr Oda (I assume) helped my dad with his stuck luggage. Love the buffet (dinner and breakfast). Also, we love the open air onsen and fireworks. This peaceful town scene and with 7-11, gas station across the resort. It is abit sad that there is limited restaurants when we are here. However, we loved the peaceful and serene feel that Lake Toya had given us. Slow down our pace for city dwellers. Hope to come back again! "

"We booked two juniorJapanese Western suites for a family of 6. The suites were spacious, with a western bedroom with 2 beds and a Japanese room with futons. Each suite came with a spacious terrace. The bathrooms had nice big tubs plus shower. The kitchen was fully equipped. The washing machine was a big convenience. We would not hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to Hakodate."

"This hotel was excellent. The view was perfect. We could see the fireworks from our room window. The hotel had 2 onsen and the upstairs one was spectacular! Buffet was great and there’s lots of amazing food options along the street. Overall, breathtaking as a hotel."
