"We had a great experience at New Hotel Wakasa and the staff were super helpful. We arrived to Nara early and the hotel was able to hold our luggage for us. During checkout, they were also able to hold our luggage for us (before 3pm) so we could spend one last afternoon in Nara luggage free before leaving the city. "Hotel is unmanned with no lobby attendant. Everything is done virtually through a video concierge in the lobby. When giving the room code it wasnt the safest as they put it on the screen and others can see your detailed information on at check in if you dont block the screen from others. Overall very spacious layout with tons of room for Tokyo and it was clean. About 10 mins walk to Dotonbori or the subway. Heating/AC unit is a bit hard to get setup properly but once its set its good."

"A well appointed apartment style property with video self check in. There was nothing I found lacking inside the suite - all kitchen and laundry supplies are provided, for example. Property is clean and modern. Cons - the wait for the single elevator can be long at times. The walls appear to be quite thin as well."

"We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Monterey Le Frere Osaka! The hotel was really nice and after getting used to the traditions, we loved going to the sento/Trinite baths every day. It's a bit of a walk from the Osaka train stations, but in January we were still able to stay underground for almost all of the eay there. Fair warning - when visiting the Umeda underground routes be ready to be lost as it's very convoluted and busy, so it's easy to get confused. The hotel and staff on the other hand made the stay fantastic."
