"Its a decent hotel although it is small as in most hotels in japan. Check in was smooth but the reception was clueless when asked about benefits as Gold member. Upon check out the staff insisted i return the room card key or chargeable if i dont. They should just inform guests upon check in to ensure room card key needs to be returns. The girl at the reception was unfriendly and unhelpful when told her the other card was misplaced by my husband. She insisted i pay but then immediately said next...

"In my humble opinion this is a 3 star hotel not 4. Don’t get me wrong, it’s clean & modern. Staff is friendly, but I noticed the walls in the room were dirty and scratched. Great centric location though. "

"The bath was really clean and nice. They have washer and dryer (2 of them for the whole hotel) but better than none. I’d like towel service in the bath area so you don’t have to bring your towels from your room since I forgot to bring them multiple times during my stay. The service was excellent they seemed like they can read our minds. "

"Very conveniently located next to Hakata Station. Tons of shopping and dining options nearby. There are only two elevators and it was very busy so many days it took awhile to get up and down. Overall, very happy with our stay."

"Hotel Oriental Express Fukuoka Tenjin is a 3-minute walk from Tenjin Station, so the location is really convenient and good. The staff is also very friendly, and since there are many Korean guests, there are staff who can speak Korean. The room size is small, but clean, and there is enough space to fully open the suitcase. The bathroom is also very clean. If I come to Fukuoka again, I would like to stay at this hotel again."

"An affordable alternative to the Hyatt next door. But like the Hyatt, it's attached to the Canal City Mall, so it's got many food and shopping options in addition to the restaurant. Rooms are small, but affordable and the location is a very short taxi ride to Hakata Station. On a nice day, you can also walk to the station. There's also a bus stop in front of the hotel."

"Hotel Forza Hakataeki Chikushi - Guchi1 is our go to hotel in Fukuoka. It conveniently located next to Hakata Station where you’ll find everything. Buffet breakfast is good and there is unlimited coffee. Rooms are small but not tiny. I was however surprised when we were checking out and the front desk reception told me we could leave our bags which was unusual. Days before a lot of people had left their bags and we were expecting to do the same. I had to insist with the front desk reception...

"This was a comfortable stay and the breakfast was ok but as one not familiar with Japanese breakfast it was a bit annoying that some less Japanese options were not restocked when they ran out. Still it was an appreciated benefit. The bed was suitably comfortable as compared to some other Japanese beds. While the room was small it was a very functional room. Also it is about 5 min walk from Hakata station and this is very useful. Self check in seemed odd since there were still many staff."

"Nothing not good at this hotel except the size of the room. As usuall, hotel's room in Japan is very small. Only suit with hand carry baggage for one person. Room is clean. Found black mould at toilet top though. "

"The apartment is well located and vonvenient - it's a 8 minute walk to the Hakata Station. It is true to description but well equipped especially thd kitchen. Thr bathroom was excellent as it's modern and thr ling bath is superb. Management was super helpful and responsive to every query andvrequest we made. Value for money. "

"Hotel Forza Hakataeki Chikushi - Guchi1 is our go to hotel in Fukuoka. It conveniently located next to Hakata Station where you’ll find everything. Buffet breakfast is good and there is unlimited coffee. Rooms are small but not tiny. I was however surprised when we were checking out and the front desk reception told me we could leave our bags which was unusual. Days before a lot of people had left their bags and we were expecting to do the same. I had to insist with the front desk reception saying we are a frequent customer of the hotel and who the reluctantly took our bags for safekeeping, initially insisting we come back for it after 2hours when our flight is still in the evening. The hotel eventually took our bags. One guest hurled bad words at the front desk lady who was insisting that their bags be kept at the train station pay locker. Unusual for a hotel. No reason for initially refusing to keep our bags. Maybe they can revert with a response on why they were refusing to keep the bags."

Comfortable stay

"We enjoyed our stay here. The room is quite modern and comfortable and we appreciated the on site sauna. Not sure about the level of soundproofing as we could hear conversations from the people next door but thankfully it was quiet by the time we needed to sleep. Would consider staying there again."
