Outpost was not ready for us to arrive! They missed the mark and I feel sorry for this owner! The master shower did not function when we were set for taking our first shower. We were asked to send photos, advised how to turn it on, etc. Ended up the shower had been worked on before our arrival, the plumber came later, used tools, removed a softener that had just been added but was defective (no water could go through it, even for the plummer). The shower had gray caulk strands and hunks on the floor plus grime on the floor and filthy door/edges. It had not been properly cleaned for our stay, inspected, tested, etc. Three showers... however the MASTER (most important one) missed cleaning/inspection. Communication with Outpost was lengthy, from the beginning, lots of untimely, wasted vacation time for the $$$. For only 4 nights, we paid top dollar, expecting top accomodations to be ready and received lower level results. Although they said the words "I'm sorry" and "that's not acceptable, we appreciate you letting us know, etc." (not what we wanted to spend time doing on vacation). We cleaned out the shower floor, ugh.
2. The deck had a great view and was the main reason to invest extra $$$ for that view. The deck had't been swept or blown off. Lots of droppings, and dust, plus the roof had just been replaced so there were pieces of shingles and wood from the finished work on the porch. We didn't have a broom or blower however we cleaned up the large roofing pieces. Any supervisor/inspector the day of our arrival should have caught this too. Outpost made this VRBO experience a thumbs down for honest reasons. Helping the host out while on vacation in a high-end advertised VRBO, doesn't lead to a positive rating for honest reasons. Vacatiion time is precious! Our value was reduced. Outpost should be ready and cover their bases for the higher $$$ especially, not their troubles as a result. (This was our 3rd VRBO in 7 months and the only unsatisfactory review.)
