"2nd time staying at an ∧ Hostel. Affordable, clean, and the staff / amenities are pretty good. Will happily stay again next time that I visit Osaka. Highly recommended."

"Staff was friendly and the property was very clean. A big downside however was that the hostel is located right under a rail line, which makes the entire building shudder whenever a train passes by overhead. Though I only stayed over for a short while, I was satisfied with my stay."

"Fantastic location and great price. Its still a hostel so you never know who the other guests might be but still deserves 5 Star. Also has an Izakaya Restaurant in the lobby."

"The private room was quite large and the service was excellent. I love that they have an assortment of board games in the common area, as well as a dart board! Minor gripes: * There are only two washing machines and two dryers. On at least two occasions I had to reschedule my laundry chores because both were occupied at the time. "Pretty place for a single travler"

"Worst hostel I’ve been in Japan. It’s dirty, noisy and smelly. The beds are not fixed so it very noisy when you move. The rooms are not well ventilated and smells bad. You can find better for the price. "

"Acceptable for hostel accommodation but overpriced"

"Stefan and Daniel were great hosts. They are friendly, inviting and building a great culture for travelers. Whether it’s your first time in Osaka or you’re a frequent visitor, Backstage is a great place to make new friends. It’s also a bonus that they serve the best expression martini’s in all of Osaka. Thank you guys for your hospitality and retrieving my parcel while I was in Kyoto!"

"The place is clean, the bedrooms are spacious, the common rooms are cozy, the showers are high pressure, and the staff were very friendly. The only complaint is that the house dog situation was, for the time that I was there, a little concerning. They were quite vocal and unfriendly for the most part, apparently because they were in heat. I believe the staff when they say it's not always like that. But overall I greatly enjoyed Guest House Matsu so much that I kept wanting to spend time there...

"Hotel is unmanned with no lobby attendant. Everything is done virtually through a video concierge in the lobby. When giving the room code it wasnt the safest as they put it on the screen and others can see your detailed information on at check in if you dont block the screen from others. Overall very spacious layout with tons of room for Tokyo and it was clean. About 10 mins walk to Dotonbori or the subway. Heating/AC unit is a bit hard to get setup properly but once its set its good."

"Excellent facility with indoor and outdoor onsen for hotel guests; Sakurajima station is right across from the hotel connecting to Universal Studio Japan, Universal Studio city Walk, and connecting train to Osaka shopping area. 7-11 is and Lawsons are just around the corner 5 min walk, a must have nearby when staying in Japan."

"Location is marvelous for the hotel. Many eatery and shopping malls within walking distance around this hotel. It is a bit pricey but is worthy for the location. Hotel facility is new and room size is good. Except one day we get only 2 bottles of water instead of 3 for 3 guests. Called the front desk they asked us to buy from the vending machine. "
