"This is a lovely new hotel, very helpful friendly staff and one of the very best Onsens we’ve experienced in Japan (this is my third trip). Really fantastic- new, clean, three pools- outstanding. The hotel is 35 minutes S of Hakuba by car and an hour by shuttle bus, and the shuttle only runs to and from once per day so without a car you don’t have many options. Omachi, the nearest town is a fairly long walk. Recommend having a rental car if you stay here. "

"The staff at this property are unbelievable. They go out of their way for you. The hotel has pretty much ski in, with access to the chair lift right outside the front door. Dinner is amazing, breakfast is not as good, but has plenty on offer with fruits, hot and cold options. The onsen downstairs was renovated whilst we were staying there and looks great, much more inviting. Access to the Hakuba Valley Shuttle just up the road, walkable. "Great location, breakfast and helpful staff. You can find it right off the station. The hotel is located above a mall, with easy access to restaurants on the 4th floor. The breakfast was great! Lots of options and well worth the price. Hotel staff was helpful and even helped us fill out the mailing paper to ship our luggage to the next hotel. The public bath was smaller and much more crowded than expected but it did the job."

"The property is not safe during COVID-19. It requires half-board, and continues to serve its meals indoors, via a buffet. Yes, they include disinfectant at the tables and provide people with plastic hand-coverings, but numerous studies show this is not enough and buffets are some of the most dangerous venues to contract COVID. They denied my request to eat meals in my room. In addition, the hotel does not adequately enforce mask usage -- many guests wear their masks below their nose and, in the...

"Stayed only a single night here after doing the Alpine route as it's very convenient and close to the station. It's a decent place, not too fancy. Room was an ok size, bit squishy for afamily of 4.Bonus was the public baths which is always nice in Japan."

"We had a good stay at Furuhata, but there were a few inconveniences. The onsen was fantastic—nice and hot, perfect after a long day of skiing. Towels and kimonos were replaced daily, which was a great touch, and beds were made every two days. The price was reasonable, and the shuttle to the ski resort was convenient. "Really lovely hotel - next to Daiwa shopping centre and on the main tram route (hotel will give you free tram tickets on request) The onsen facilities are extremely good and the main reason to pick this hotel over its competitors. "This property was the ice cream to our trip- the property was beautifully built, maintained and allows for the best possible mountain view from the base. The service was beyond attentive and the room was like out of a magazine. If you’ve got the money- splurge and do it! Watching the first snow fall from the panoramic windows was one of the highlights of our trip! "
