I was quite surprised upon arriving at the hotel to find that there was significant construction taking place inside. There had been no prior notification about this, which caught me off guard.
Secondly, the room I had reserved was unavailable, and I was given a room with double beds instead of a queen bed as initially booked. Again, there was no prior notice about this change. While I was offered a same-day coupon for one appetizer (worth approximately $20) at the hotel restaurant as compensation, I am unsure about the price difference between the rooms.
Upon entering the assigned room, I found it to be in extremely poor condition, with old furniture, dirty floors, and an unclean bathroom. Due to these issues, I requested to cancel the second night of my stay and receive a refund, but I was informed that this was not possible since the reservation was made through Expedia.
During my stay, I repeatedly encountered cockroaches in the bathroom, which I had to deal with myself. This made the stay even more unpleasant.
Lastly, upon checking out, I requested a receipt but was told it could not be provided as the booking was made through Expedia.
