Ideal getaway spot

My wife and I stayed in the main cabin, our 13 year old daughter had the smaller cottage. We had a terrific week in Oahu and it was great to have this place as our home base in Hawaii Kai. My brother and his wife have also stayed here and they love it as well. It’s just what we were looking for, listing was spot on.

Gorgeous view, quiet and peaceful retreat

The moment I relaxed in the hammock, I thought I’d never be able to leave! The patio was a dream — with a dream view. Micah was a great communicator and check-in was a breeze. The apartment was lovely and comfortable — everything we wanted for a relaxing and romantic getaway.

Bubbly Bungalow

A great place to stay, especially if you need a base to see the tourist sites. Was prepared from the other reviews for a Pike’s Peak experience but the stairs aren’t that serious. Wasn’t adventurous to try the outdoor shower but the deck is AMAZING! Highly recommended!

Oasis

This garden property was perfect for our family of four (two adults, two kids under 10). We loved the outdoor living and dining area, and hot tub. It was so hard to leave this peaceful, treetop oasis. Selfishly I hope this place doesn't become popular. I hope to visit again.

Quiet nature place

Wake up by tropical birds singing in the morning, quiet private spaces whole week experience. We ask host few stuffs at last minutes, quickly respond and great help, I will come back to stay again. In the kitchen, no cooking stove equipped, however alternative cooking equipment available and not problem on our stay. Just reminder for someone need those.

Beautiful location and beautiful home

The homes and location could not be any better. The homeowners were wonderful and very helpful. The home had everything we needed to have a joyful vacation. The only thing that you should know before booking is the home is on a steep mountain. Only reserve is the entire party can climb many stairs. Once you get to the top it is all worth it.

Wonderful retreat

This was a beautiful property in East Honolulu that was perfect for our family. The neighborhood is close to lots of locations/beaches/parks and hikes. We slept well on the beds, enjoyed the outdoor shower, relaxed in the hammock, enjoyed the hot tub, and appreciated the amazing views/climate in this location. The location is quiet, and we really appreciated being close to things but feeling away from it all. The kitchen has most things one needs, and the hosts provided many things helpful for the beach (chairs, boogie boards, towels), as well as just living (detergent, bug spray, etc). We would definitely stay here again!!

Absolutely beautiful cottages

This is a great place to stay. The cottages are on a hill above the owners house which is a little bit odd at first but the property feels separate and more like neighbors. You are very lucky if you get to stay here. The ocean view is spectacular and way better than pictures can show. There is thick jungle to your back and waking up to the sounds of the birds and the jungle is an amazing start to the day. The outside shower was even amazing. My kids loved the spa. Staying here was definitely one of the highlights of our vacation.

Wonderful cottages for our Oahu vacation

The two cottages were a perfect place for us to unwind after our daily activities on Oahu. We spent most of our family time on the deck, having enough space for our 3 young adult children to spread out and enjoy themselves. The inside of each cottage will only provide you room for sleeping, food prep and showering, as they are small, but with the deck and view, there is no need for being inside while you are in Hawaii! We used the grill for a few meals, relaxed in the hot tub and watched TV on the deck, while enjoying a great vacation with our family of 5. Thank you Micah for a great place to stay on our vacation!

A Hawaiian sanctuary for relaxation

If you like to get away from resorts and crowds and get a feel for how it is to live in a gorgeous home in Hawaii then this is the place to stay. The house was very clean and well stocked with things in the kitchen, towels, beach chairs and more. The outdoor shower and ocean/mountain views from the deck were the highlights for me. The property is very peaceful and beautiful. Hosts were very helpful and responsive. Check in was super easy. It was hard to leave to do activities during the day because the space was so inviting. A short drive down the hill brings you to lots of good restaurants and stores. I highly recommend a stay!

amazing view, peaceful setting

My husband and I stayed at this property during a brief househunting visit, and loved the amazing view from the deck and the peaceful location. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Parking is either up a steep and windy driveway that required backing down, or parking on the street below, and the cottage is up a somewhat steep stepstone path and a couple flights of stairs. The location is convenient to shopping (including Costco!). Mosquitoes were a problem but insect repellant was provided. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and recommend it for people who want to stay in Hawaii Kai.

Pure Paradise!

We found this hidden gem when on Oahu to celebrate our daughter's graduation from University of Hawaii. It is tucked in the valley with a postcard perfect view of the ocean. The cottage is well equipped with anything you could need in the kitchen and the outdoor living space was exactly what we were looking for even though we didn't know it. The towels were fluffy and the bedding was good quality as were the furnishings and extra touches decorating the cottage. We made cedar plank salmon on the grill and sat around the fire pit roasting marshmallows as the sun set. Mike was available to answer questions and hook us up with coolers and Mochi stopped by in the evening for a little visit. This cottage is a true find.

BEAUTIFUL COTTAGE STAY

We trully enjoyed the property and the view. The outdoor living area was fabulous. Our son wanted to take the outdoor shower home with us. The loft worked out OK but the stairs were a lot steeper than was explained. I would caution anyone with small children to use it. I would also caution anyonw elderly or large to use it also. This site would be perfect for a couple looking for a romantic getaway. The view is to die for. Just remember there are 40 steps from the top of the driveway to the door and more if you have to park on the street.

Amazing getaway spot

Really enjoyed this property, it’s a great value for the money and is in a very great location close to many beaches, hikes and shops. The small kitchenette offers everything to cook up a small meal, complete with staple spices. A grill is available as well. The view in the pictures does not do it justice, you need to experience it for yourself. And the neighborhood is safe and quiet. There is even a washer/ dryer on the property if you need it. And the outdoor shower is wonderful, took multiple showers during my stay. The hosts have done a great job in making sure all of the guests needs might be accounted for. The only possible negative might be the climb up to the cottage from the drive way so if mobility is an issue would not recommended. Definitely ended up feeling like a home away from home and would definitely stay here again if coming back to Hawaii.

Best Family Vacation Ever!

Don't get me wrong. Our family vacation was great for a lot of reasons. Hawaii is an experience that every family should have. Every day was jam-packed with exciting adventures. But the whole experience would have been lessened if we did not have an enjoyable place to stay. Fortunately, our stay here exceeded every expectation! The pictures do not do it justice. The view is incredible - a perfect backdrop and place to come home to for the week. My wife and I were able to stay in the separate guest bedroom and our kids enjoyed the main home. Beach amenities were provided. Soaking in the hot tub was a fantastic way to relax after a full day. Even the outdoor shower was an unusual but great touch. We truly felt like we were on vacation! Out hosts gave us excellent directions leading up to the trip and were very accommodating. We could not have asked for a better experience. Mahalo!

Just what you need, but didn't think to look for.

This was an excellent place to stay. Located up on a neighborhood hillside a 1/2 hour from downtown, it's close enough to the city and remote enough allowing more privacy. It also gives you a head start up the coast. There's a great view of the ocean from your deck that has a table, hammock, lawn chairs, couch and flat screen TV plus a Jacuzzi. Adjacent you'll find a grill, fire pit and outdoor shower. There's even a washer and dryer. We can't thank Mike and Kendra enough! They're both so very kind, and they were extremely helpful with questions, suggestions and logistics. They recommended great places to eat and drink, where to find the best beaches, and arranged car rental and an absolutely unforgettable catamaran sunset cruise. They even provided a special nut cracker for the macadamia nuts growing just off the deck. This is an ideal location for anyone who desires easy access to all of the island with a touch of home. The location for us as to what we wanted to see and do was perfect, the accommodations not so.They really need to have a stove instead of a much used plug in two burner hotplate, a toaster oven that had rust on the inside and a plug in griddle that we had to clean. You needed to use one appliance at a time or it would trigger the circuit breaker, few outlets but many extension cords.The outside grill had leftover fish remains that we had to clean before using.The outside lanai was very accommodating with great views but if the weather were inclement there was no place to sit inside as we had to use the futon as a bed because the ladder to the loft was not secured and the loft was not habitable for an adult .We had the suite at the top of the property, it had no dresser or hooks to hang anything, no plumbing in the unit.The walk to the toilet area with a laundry tub as a sink had no lighting so needed a flashlight, the outside shower needed to be cleaned.There was no usable firepit as shown on the website, they had placed it under the deck with supporting beam on top.

Bien mais cher, bruyant et élevé

Déjà le bungalow se situe à 112 m d’altitude donc la balade digestive après le restaurant (le plus proche étant à 3 km) n’est pas accessible à tous. De plus nous avons été surpris de ne pas avoir de book avec des bonnes adresses / notices etc, donc il faut se débrouiller. Question propreté le bungalow en lui même était propre mais nous avons dû nettoyer les ustensiles de cuisine… Et le pire pour nous le bruit, le réfrigérateur fait beaucoup de bruit et chauffe beaucoup rendant les nuits chaudes et bruyantes. Dernière nuisance sonore mais la journée, les chiens du propriétaire qui aboient dès qu’ils sont absents. Donc très bien équipé pour un couple ou avec des enfants en bas âge mais malheureusement trop bruyant pour vraiment en profiter.
