As pictured, the hotel didn’t deliver on its promises. When we arrived, we noticed a bug in the tub and stuck to the bathroom ceiling, along with brown mold from built-up humidity that couldn’t exit. There was no shell lanai on greeting (as promised) and the sink levers were sealed improperly, causing water to constantly emanate from their bases even while in the off position. The “deep-soaking” bathtubs had years of wear and tear, including black mold at the drainage areas. Black mold also showed up above the mini split AC on the ceiling and throughout the room, including in a gaping hole where the J-hook wet bar sink pipe connected to the wall. Furthermore, every light switch plate was coming off of the wall, seemingly ready to detach at a feathers touch. Not to mention, black mold was also found inside and around each light switch.
One of the worst parts were the noise levels. The private lanai glass doors provided effectively zero sound insulation from the outside world. Even with a noisemaker on full blast, we could hear the daily garbage trucks and downtown Waikīkī noises very clearly each night. The entrance door to the room also had about a half inch gap between itself and the door frame that allowed for crystal clear noise transmission from the hallways and throughout the hotel into our room, robbing us of peace and quiet. Additionally the peep hole on the entrance door lacked a cover which also allowed any passer-bys to look into our room.
