Great trip to Maine
This was our first trip up to Maine and this place was perfect for our family of 5. It’s close to the mainland section of Acadia and about 50 minutes from Bar Harbor/main section of Acadia. This place has its own private driveway and location which was nice. It’s very easy to drive past the driveway, but look for the red barn doors on the house directly across from the driveway. GPS, for us at least, didn’t get us to the exact location. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for letting us use the house.

Quiet and very nice
This location was exactly what we needed to escape the crowds of Acadia while still being able to access the park. The property was clean, and comfortable.

Nice backyard porch with forest views
Feels big and uncluttered, nice downstairs and rural setting. Easy access to acadia national park with a drive. Plenty of linens and towels. Only one shower for six people, but it was ok. Enough blankets and air conditioning to be comfortable and plenty of materials for cooking. Only thing I would change is to put in blackout curtains especially in the upstairs bedroom, it could have strong tension rods to fit the windows so no need to wake at dawn. Other than that it was great.

Positive experience
I vacationed with my family of 6, including a toddler. Overall positive experience - Quiet, private, clean, had all amenities that we needed, nice views from the inside, nice deck. Also, on Rt 1 and within an hour drive to key tourist activies in the area. Good value for the money.

Beautiful home!
The house we perfect for a little family getaway. Private little area for us to all hang out and visit Acadia NP. The property is closer to Schoodic Peninsula than the main area of Acadia but the Peninsula was beautiful and peaceful! The house was clean, organized and matched the description!

Perfect Secluded Hideaway For Our Family
As soon as we stepped foot into the house, we were very pleased. We loved the open floor plan and the beautiful deck. We enjoyed playing baggo on the deck before the mosquitoes came out. It was also nice getting up early and sitting on the deck with coffee. My sister rented nearby and visited and we had a nice lobster dinner as the kids played video games (my nephews brought from home) downstairs on the large screen tv. The open floor plan allowed for us to enjoy one another with conversation, board games, and laughs. The host, Amy, knew we were in the area on the day of check-in and told us we could check in early which was greatly appreciated. She also told us of some fishing spots. Our day trips included walking along Winter Harbor/Schoodic Point, antique shopping at 1A Relic, shopping in Ellsworth boutiques, meeting up with a lobsterman for local lobsters and crabs, and of course, Bar Harbor & Acadia (Cadillac Mountain for sunset & Jordan Pond). People on other reviews mentioned that the house was hot and that the sun came through the livingroom windows which they felt should have blinds or curtains. Let it be noted that there is now an A/C system throughout the house and the air was very comfortable. And I love that the windows are kept uncovered as the scenery is beautiful in the back woods. We were constantly looking out the windows for wildlife.

Very nice house in the woods
The property accommodated my family and small dog very well. We enjoyed our stay. The fact that it was August in the Maine woods meant that mosquitos were everywhere outside, but, that was expected. We spent most of our time in Acadia National Park by the ocean, so, it wasn’t a problem.

The driveway is very difficult to find, particularly in the dark. If it weren’t for google we might not have found it. Glow in the dark numbers on the mailbox would help. House was quite nice, roomy and comfortable. Extra quiet!

Quiet location away from busy tourist areas
What we loved - the interior of the house was clean, plenty of linens, spacious enough for 4 adults and two teens, appliances all worked well, individual cooling systems for different rooms allowed people to set rooms to their comfort levels, beds were comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with all of the equipment we needed and it was back off the road making for a quiet setting but close enough to make getting around easy. Loved being on this side of the park and Schoodic Point at sunset was my favorite part of the trip along with the close trail at Taft Preserve that I drove to so I could walk the dogs. What could use some help - the bright afternoon sunlight through the large windows in the living space (not sure how the owner would get around that though due to the size of windows and shape and it was only an issue on an afternoon or two when we weee home) and the early morning light through windows with sheer curtains or no coverings in the bedrooms. Bring your masks to sleep or pickup some souvenirs ones in Bar Harbor - worked like a charm for my teens. There was also a vast amount of bugs including mosquitos that made it impossible to enjoy the deck or walk the dogs on the property. The pictures online did not show the overgrown vegetation outside the basement slider or around the property (I think they may have been taken when it was new). I would not recommend this property during seasons when the bugs are bad if you have pets or if you plan on sitting outside with a book or playing outdoor games. The grill was also small and needed a good cleaning. When cooking for 6 people we had to cook in shifts which worked out ok, but due to the bug situation we only used it twice. Overall I would stay here again, but not during the part of the season when bugs are bad, especially mosquitos.

Read before booking! Not all that.
Difficult to find. Wasn't labeled very well. Not even enough hot water for even one bathtub. We had to space out showers. Grill was not as shown. Very small. Not allowed to use Fireplace. Misleading. Cornhole bags are molded. Can't use it. Wifi is weak. So don't plan on watching anything but the circle of death. Fan was very dusty. Other than that it was fine. It did the job.

Beautiful and Clean
We had an amazing week in Maine visiting Acadia and surrounding areas. We were blown away with how beautiful and clean this property is, I highly recommend it. The pictures do not do it justice. The reviews mentioning supplies and temperature are not accurate at least as the property is now. There is room by room heating and cooling and we found the supplies to be adequate.

Appr 30 miles to bar harbor one way. Spot is isolated. Very quiet. Beautiful home. Living room upper window could use window treatment to keep sun out of eyes in afternoon. Some of the mattresses are awfully thin to point of uncomfortable. Could use a better set of dishes. I bought a new set of pots and pans. Much needed. Really enjoyed our week. I think cost was was appropriate for location. I would stay again.

Great solitude
After a long day of hiking it was refreshing to come back to a quiet relaxing home. The deck was large and has a great view. The kitchen was lacking some things.(lids for pots, microwave dishes, large sheet pans.) The grill was smaller than we expected but we were still able to enjoy it.
