This house is spacious with a gorgeous view of the lake and mountains. Unfortunately, when I contacted vacasa (not sure why it wasn't vrbo, unless the companies are one in the same), the representatives promised resolutions to 2 seemingly simple requests. Most frustrating was the difficulty accessing the home. The door to the house was inaccessible due snow up to my waist. A path was not shoveled and the stairs were not shoveled. This was not newly fallen snow. When I called the phone number on the vacasa app, they provided me with a code for the garage door. Unfortunately, I had to climb a mountain of snow to reach the box to enter the code for the garage. In my opinion, this was both unsafe and unacceptable. I called several times and was told that someone would be arriving at the house for snow removal. Again, this was not newly fallen snow. We ultimately had to shovel and put ice melt on the icy driveway. I feel that when I'm renting a home for a getaway, I should not be expected to shovel to enter the home. The minimal instructions that were provided for the home were unclear. The home was 55 degrees upon arrival. There were no directions for the digital thermostat which was unnecessarily frustrating. There was a beautiful spa tub, along with a sign that stated we couldn't use it. The fireplace did not work. There were no trash bags or dishwashing pods. We would have loved to have access to the large porch, but that was also covered with snow. Beds were comfortable. When they say you will need 4x4 to get up the driveway...that's no joke. Thankfully we had mild weather and that the ice was only at the top of the driveway because it would have been impossible to get up the steep driveway has it been snowy and icy. Yikes...this was my first negative experience with home away/vrbo...which is now vacasa I guess. Customer service was poor. Representatives told me that'd provide solutions for the snow and heat and never did after several calls. Trust the reviews on this one. I have photos. I wish I could upload them here.
