Roaring Fork Lodge was about 1 mile from downtown Gatlinburg so the location was great. There were 15 in our group and sleeping space worked well for our group. Bathrooms worked but only three full bathrooms and 3 half baths. In the lower level there were three bedrooms and only one full bathroom, so some sharing. The bottom level had a bunk room but no bathroom. The kitchen was well-stocked except for silverware. There were only 9 forks and 3 or 4 spoons and similar number of knives. We ended up buying plastic ware. The grill was advertised as a working grill but needed to be cleaned and seasoned. These concerns aside, the house was roomy and spacious. The game room and media room were great for the kids. The decks were wonderful for sitting and gathering. The biggest concern was also the biggest treat….bears. We saw many bear every day, up close and personal. One came up to the front door. Others came up on the decks, one tried to open the latch on the door, which fortunately was locked. One napped on the yard. Others walked by the fire pit. As fun as it was to see these bears, we had to be aware when we were outside or on the decks. It was obvious that past renters had fed them, which is dangerous for people and bears. The owner, Chris, was easy to reach and addressed any concerns we had. His communiques were thorough and very informative. I’d gladly rent from him again but might choose a house that had a better bedroom to bathroom ratio.

Perfect for all ages
Had a fantastic week at Roaring Fork. The house was perfect for our group of 15 family members ranging in ages from 4 to 70+. The basement with game room and movie theater was a huge hit for everyone. The place was very clean and house instructions were clear and helpful. Would definitely recommend this rental. We will be thinking of our mornings and evenings spent on the covered deck with amazing views for a long time.

Something for everyone! 22 Bear visits!
We were a family group of 16 people, aging from 67 down to 2 years old. ( 8 adults, 1-teen, and 7 kids between 2-9 years old. ) Roaring Fork Lodge far exceeded our expectations. 1. Communication directly with owners was great before, during, and after our stay. Chris was quick to respond and very easy to work with. We had a couple of minor things we needed to contact Chris about. Quick and easy resolutions. 2. Clean and adequately stocked. We brought extra things such as paper towels, hand soap, bath soap, etc. The instructions are very clear on what is supplied and what you need to bring. 3. Plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the amenities of the cabin. Lots of big spaces for gathering and small nooks to read or just enjoy the scenery. 4. We were visited 22 times by bears!!! This was the highlight of our trip. The last day was “everyone do your favorite thing” day. The majority just wanted to stay and enjoy the cabin. That says it all! The few that ventured out were jealous because that day was our best bear visit day! 5. We also enjoyed: Anakeesta, Chimney Tops Picnic area with gorgeous stream, Cataract Falls, Apple Barn, Pigeon Forge Snow, The Titanic Museum, Dollywood, and walking downtown. 6. This cabin gave the feel of being high on the mountain. However, it was close to town, store, National Park, and Pigeon Forge! We would definitely stay in this cabin again! We made lasting family memories here. Enjoy your stay!!

Beautiful cabin
This was a family vacation with our 4 adult children and their boyfriend/girlfriends, and it was a great vacation. The cabin was very clean and well maintained, and loved the location. Even saw black bear on and around the property each day of our trip (they didn’t bother us at all). Overall was a great place to stay and we will be using the cabin again for our next family trip to Gatlinburg.

Fantastic location
Our family had a wonderful experience and weekend celebrating my Mom’s 82nd birthday! We had so much fun and the accommodations were wonderful! Our grandchildren and great nieces and nephews had the best time and made so many lifelong memories!! Take Chris seriously when he sends the bear warnings … we saw them multiple times! This is a great property and we will definitely be back!!

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. It’s spacious, well designed and comfortable for multiple families to be together! It had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. The location was great too, we even saw bears! I highly recommend this cabin and will be looking forward to staying here again!

Work friends trip
Great cabin for our group of 12 adult friends! The road to get there is a little scary and there are a few construction projects going on around the property right now, but otherwise a great location!! The sound of the creek below and views of Gatlinburg are amazing! Every room in the cabin is gorgeous! There is plenty of room to spread out, but be prepared for lots of stairs. We didn't use the theatre room much, but it is super cool! The hot tub and fireplace were our favorite spots! We would definitely recommend this cabin!

I couldn't find any other cabin in the area like this one, the level of detail inside and out was incredible. Huge property lot of space and rrally beautiful. The cabin was what I lile the most about the trip to Tennessee.

1st Family Vacation!
This was our first ever family vacation! It was such an awesome experience for everyone. The cabin was beautiful and the bear experience was a first for almost everyone. The only complaint we had was the downstairs fireplace was not working. They didn’t test it before our arrival and it never worked throughout the entire week, regardless of their efforts. We were really looking forward to using it.

Wonderful place for people of all ages
We had a wonderful time while staying here! We had an age range of 4-56 and everyone was in awe of the place. It was gorgeous and very spacious, I never felt like one place was too crowded. The only complaint we had was the cleanliness. The floors were not swept great and there were quite a few spider webs inside the cabin that weren’t exactly small. We also found clothing that belonged to someone else in one of the drawers. I think this definitely reflects more on who they hd cleaning the cabin and not to much on the owners. The owners were wonderful to deal with and responded to any question I had very fast. There was even an incident with one of the AC units and they made attempts to handle that as fast as possible. We would definitely stay here again!

Far Better Than Advertised
For our fiftieth wedding anniversary, our daughters and their families traveled to Gatlinburg and stayed at the Roaring Fork Lodge. Everyone was overwhelmed by the beauty of the cabin, the view of the forest, and the sound of the water rushing over the rocks below. Each family had a floor to themselves, plenty of bathrooms, and a wonderful game room. The lodge's location minimized travel times to the restaurants and attractions in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Dollywood. All in all, the cabin helped make our special occasion very memorable. We will be back.

We had an amazing vacation! Went to Dollywood stampede, atv’s , zip lining , Dollywood, hiking, shopping, miniature golfing, parrot mountain, roller coasters, outdoor gravity, had a relaxing time at the house. Had 8 adults, 7 grandchildren in the house and had plenty of room, the game room was fantastic! The views and our daily bear sightings were great! The house was beautiful and so spacious, we had a busy week, but found when at the house we all relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. Great location too. We are still talking about what a fun family trip we had, would stay there again:)

Beautiful home.
This 4 story (lots of climbing stairs) house has all the things you could want: lots of outdoor balconies, hot tub, fire pit, bean toss, pool table & movie room just to name a few. Beautiful view. Big kitchen. There were 16 (9 adults, 7 children (12-8yr olds) + 1 11mi old. Plenty of room for doing whatever you wanted though do.

Best cabin in Gatlinburg
We literally fell in love the first time we saw the pictures of the cabin and it’s more beautiful in person. Everything was perfect and the cabin had all of the amenities included (kitchen had pots and pans to cook, huge fridge, cinema was comfortable, play area in the basement). The communication with the host was great. No problems or issues trying to access the cabin. I will choose this cabin next time i stay in Gatlinburg. I recommend you to choose this cabin.

Best Cabin Ever
This is the best cabin we’ve stayed at by far…pics don’t do this cabin justice…it’s supper spacious and there is room for everyone in your group…. The game room and theater are amazing and it’s literally walking distance to all the fun…definitely renting this one again in the future.
